While YYachts has been a regular exhibitor at prestigious boat shows in the Mediterranean, such as Palma, Cannes, and Genoa, the decision to expand its presence to the US market marks an important milestone. Newport, located on Rhode Island’s coast and known as the sailing center of the American East Coast, provides an ideal backdrop for YYachts to connect with the growing interest in its yachts among American customers.
YYachts’ founder, Michael Schmidt, expressed enthusiasm about the decision, stating, “We feel a growing interest in our yachts in the USA. Several American customers have purchased a YYacht, and I think the Newport Show is a right venue to showcase our work.” To provide visitors with comprehensive information, YYachts will have its in-house design team and representatives from Tripp Design available at the show to offer on-the-spot advice and guidance to potential yacht owners.
The Y7, one of YYachts’ highly successful models, offers a unique concept that enables owners to sail the 22-meter yacht either alone or with a small crew. Its lightweight construction allows for smooth sailing even in light winds, while its design embodies exceptional sustainability. “Miss Shell,” the showcased yacht in Newport, is one of the most remarkable Y7s launched to date, boasting a captivating sky-blue hull that will surely turn heads in any marina. Behind her stylish exterior lies a modern-minimalist interior design, complemented by outstanding performance. Since her delivery, “Miss Shell” has embarked on numerous voyages, including a transatlantic crossing under its own keel.
The Newport International Boat Show, celebrating its 52nd year, occupies over 14 acres of Newport’s waterfront and serves as a premier platform for hundreds of dealers and manufacturers, showcasing new and used motor and sailing yachts ranging from 15 to 90 feet in length.
