Serving as a technological and stylistic blueprint for the brand’s future lineup regardless of powertrain, the new flagship model blends ultra-high performance with traditional British craftsmanship and modern sustainability.
Led by Design Director Robin Page, the Crewe design team crafted the low-slung, high-stance SUV around four fundamental aesthetic layers. Long wheelbase proportions and a prominent front end deliver classic elegance, while an illuminated diamond grille and streamlined rear graphics reinterpret iconic heritage cues. Muscular rear haunches taper dramatically over the wheels to convey contained energy, complemented by intricate diamond patterning woven throughout the exterior and cabin details.
Inside, the cabin retains Bentley’s signature wing-inspired layout, balancing physical tactile controls with state-of-the-art digital features. New 16-way adjustable seats feature comprehensive massage capabilities alongside optional smart climate and postural adjustment systems. Rear passengers benefit from a power-folding three-occupant seating arrangement, while an electrochromic Frosted Diamond glass sunroof allows occupants to alter ambient lighting with a touch.
Built on an 800-volt architecture, the Torcal houses a 113 kWh lithium-ion battery powering a dual-motor, permanent-magnet synchronous system. The flagship S variant produces up to 888 horsepower and 1,350 Nm of torque, sprinting from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 162 mph. The core model offers a formidable 821 horsepower, completing the same sprint in 3.3 seconds. Despite its immense power, the vehicle supports 400 kW fast charging, adding 100 miles of range in seven minutes and reaching an 80 percent charge in under 20 minutes, with a total range extending up to 375 miles.
Dynamic capability is reinforced by fully active suspension paired with two-valve adaptive dampers, eliminating the need for traditional anti-roll bars. Standard electronic all-wheel steering reduces the turning circle to just 11.1 meters, while stopping power comes from massive iron brakes or optional Carbon Silicon Carbide ceramic rotors. Drivers can tailor the vehicle’s character using four distinct experience modes—Bentley, Comfort, Sport, and Refresh—which adjust powertrain response, suspension stiffness, ambient lighting, and cabin air circulation.
Technology integration features heavily throughout the vehicle. A suite of 25 sensors enables advanced driver assistance, including automated narrow-road reversing, remote parking, and radar-guided self-opening doors. Curved OLED displays, facial recognition profile loading, an augmented reality head-up display, and smartphone key integration anchor the modern cockpit layout.
To preserve the brand’s emotional connection, engineers avoided synthetic engine sounds, instead developing a bespoke acoustic soundtrack generated using real instruments to reflect driver input. Audio choices range from a standard 620-watt setup to a premium 28-speaker, 1,780-watt Naim system equipped with Dolby Atmos and seat shakers.
Sustainability takes center stage with the introduction of 100 percent Merino wool upholstery certified by the Responsible Wool Standard, alongside innovative Ombré Walnut veneers crafted from layered recycled paper and sustainably sourced wood. With fifteen olive-tanned leather shades and precision-brushed Sunburst Aluminium trim available, the Torcal bridges classic heritage and electric innovation, establishing a new benchmark for luxury performance SUVs.
