Contest Yachts of the Netherlands is pleased to announce the World Premiere at Cannes Yachting Festival of a beautiful new 19-metre model, the luxury performance cruising Contest 63CS, designed by judel/vrolijk & co with interiors by Wetzels Brown Partners. A new ‘super’ yacht for 2024.

Superyachting tends to mean not just super standards of luxury performance but the complications of sailing with paid professional crew, a practice active sailing owners are increasingly downsizing away from. The new Contest 63CS specifically addresses this shift. With this new 19-metre model family and friends can now more easily enjoy all the benefits of ‘superyachting’ without the involvement or intrusion of additional professional crew.

For occasional extra help if desired on passage or charter, an optional, forward convertible crew space, more normally a vast sail locker and storeroom, can still be had, but strong prominence has been given to owner and guest yacht operation and privacy.

And in the naval architect’s – judel/vrolijk & Co’s – newly configured hull and interior arrangements, this brings two equally sized and outfitted midships guest suites, complementing the expansive full beam aft master suite. This brings parity for guests, all in the lap of remarkable luxury, shaped, styled and dressed by leading interior designers Wetzels Brown Partners.

A rising star in superyacht design, this Amsterdam studio and long-time Contest partner, is currently also working on the world’s largest ever sloop, the 85-metre Project 410 in build at Royal Huisman. Together with the renowned in-house skills of Contest Yachts, this all makes for a very impressive pedigree for the new model Contest 63CS, the only yacht sitting right on this sweet spot for owners wanting the optimum under their own control.

Leading into this new sweet spot, Contest Yachts has long experience in serving up easily managed, robust rigs with high-end specification throughout from winches, deck gear and lines to sails, spars, standing rigging and ground tackle.

Powered systems with fingertip operation, all set within reach of the helm pedestals and working areas adding even more to ease and confidence. As do the neatest of self-furling systems for the Code 0 or Helix integrated into the bowsprit forward, and the underdeck furlers for jib or genoa and removable inner staysail. For extra simplification, there’s also the option of self-tacking jib.

And on this new 63CS, everything really can be handled back in the working area, tidily aft of the walk-through leisure guest cockpit that leads forward down into the super spacious saloon and professional-standard galley. Simple, quick and safe – relaxing, lifestyle sailing at its best – and the smartest looking yacht in the bay.

Absolute top quality is key at Contest Yachts, an essential part of the shipyard’s 360 Performance Promise which is about more than just speed through the water. It’s about comfort and security, personal and financial. While others increasingly cut corners, Contest Yachts continues to go the extra mile to deliver the sector’s best built yachts.

We call it BUILDING DREAMS TOGETHER.
