A new interpretation of the Magazzù Maxi-RIB, designed to broaden the possibilities of life on board. Cannes will also mark the debut of the collaboration with LIND Surf, with two electric surfboards dedicated to the MX-15 Explorer and carried on the hard top.
Cantieri Magazzù, a specialist in the design and construction of luxury Maxi-RIBs, has chosen the Cannes Yachting Festival for the world premiere of the new MX-15 Explorer, a model that introduces a new interpretation of the Maxi-RIB according to Magazzù, developed to offer greater versatility across a wider range of uses. The MX-15 Explorer draws on the shipyard’s experience in the high-performance Maxi-RIB segment and evolves the concept through a more technical and functional design, without compromising the elegance, comfort and build quality that define the brand. The new vertical, wraparound windscreen provides greater protection for the helm station while underway, while the double-stepped hull is designed to combine performance, stability and comfort, even in more demanding cruising conditions. One of the most distinctive features of the new Explorer is its structured, multifunctional hard top, conceived not simply as a protective element but as a true platform dedicated to cruising and outdoor activities. It can be configured to accommodate SUPs, wakeboards and other water toys, as well as solar panels and a searchlight, allowing the equipment to be tailored to the owner’s specific requirements.
The deck has been designed according to the same philosophy of versatility. The MX-15 Explorer will be available in two different aft configurations: an EFB version, with sterndrive propulsion and a generous aft sunbathing area, and a Flush Deck version, with outboard propulsion and a completely open, multifunctional aft deck. The latter configuration allows the stern area to be used with exceptional flexibility, adapting it, depending on the owner’s requirements, to water toys, sports equipment, fixed or removable furniture, or equipment dedicated to outdoor activities. The scope for customisation extends to the interior spaces, which are developed together with the owner according to the intended use of the boat and individual habits on board. Layout, distribution of spaces, materials, finishes and furnishing solutions can all be developed on a bespoke basis, following a design approach that encompasses the entire yacht: from the interiors and deck arrangement to the equipment integrated into the hard top. The yacht presented in its world premiere at Cannes is built in the EFB diesel configuration, powered by two Volvo Penta D6 480 hp engines, and features the large aft sunbathing area.
The Collaboration with LIND Surf
To coincide with the debut of the MX-15 Explorer, Cantieri Magazzù is also presenting a new collaboration with LIND Surf, whose electric surfboards are carried directly on top of the new model’s hard top. LIND electric surfboards are designed to offer a new way of exploring the sea, from sheltered anchorages to open-water cruising, combining traditional surfboard craftsmanship with advanced technology and minimalist design, making them particularly well suited to integration aboard yachts and luxury boats. The modular system, consisting of separate board, battery and jet units, can be assembled quickly without the use of tools. This solution simplifies transport, handling and storage on board, while integrating seamlessly with the design philosophy of the MX-15 Explorer. The dedicated storage solution on the hard top means the surfboards are immediately available without taking up valuable space on the main deck, transforming sports equipment into a natural part of the onboard experience.
