With two days of racing remaining at the 36th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, the standings show close competition across all classes. There are some standout performers, but the results show it is possible to appear unbeatable one day and vulnerable the next. Thanks to the organizer’s decision to move the scheduled lay day from the Thursday to Wednesday, a full programme of competition has been possible. All competing yachts have enjoyed spectacular coastal courses offered by the emerald waters and striking geography of the Maddalena Archipelago. The Rolex IMA Maxi 1 World Championship and the Rolex IMA Maxi Grand Prix World Championship fleets have also engaged in close combat on windward leeward racetracks.
After four races in Rolex IMA Maxi 1 Worlds, V holds a one-point lead over the 2024 championship winner Leopard 3, with 2025 champion Galateia in third, a further two points back.
After four races in Rolex IMA Maxi Grand Prix Worlds, the brand new Northstar III has proved unstoppable posting four bullets to hold a considerable lead over 2025 Rolex Middle Sea Race winner Balthasar from Belgium, Bella Mente and Proteus, both from the United States. All three are tied on 17 points.
In Maxi 3, Artemis Bleu leads from Mantacore. Early class leader Twin Soul B was forced to retire today, and now lies fourth behind Astra 1 after three races.
Meanwhile, also after three races, Yoru is a point ahead of Fra Diavolo in Maxi 4, H2O has proven unbeatable so far in Maxi 5, while Highland Fling XVIII enjoys a one-point cushion over Allegra in the Multihull class.
