Designed in collaboration with Quartostile, the 37-metre yacht embodies a new vision of onboard living, where architecture, light and a seamless connection with the sea redefine the standards of its category.
Maiora presents M|38, the flagship of the new M Collection, a project that interprets the evolution of the brand through a new vision of the contemporary yacht, where design, architecture and quality of life on board converge into a single vision. Developed in collaboration with Quartostile for the exterior design and by the Maiora Style Office, together with ACUBE Designer, for the interiors, the new 37-metre yacht represents the fullest expression of the design language introduced with the M Collection: space as an experience and the sea as an architectural element, placing the owner at the heart of every design decision.
Architecture in dialogue with the sea
With M|38, Maiora brings the design vision of the M Collection to full expression, further developing its founding principles: elegance through subtraction, spatial continuity, visual permeability, invisible innovation and an increasingly direct relationship with the seascape. The yacht’s profile is shaped by a refined interplay of acceleration and volume, where sculpted surfaces and taut lines create an elegant, dynamic presence, conveying a sense of movement even when the yacht is at anchor. The new full-beam bow and the repositioning of the volumes towards the exterior redefine the yacht’s proportions, giving it a greater sense of stability and solidity without compromising the visual lightness that characterizes the entire project. The fusion of structure, glazed surfaces and teak creates a balanced material and colour palette that echoes the language of contemporary architecture and the finest traditions of yacht design, while the strong horizontality of the lines encourages a natural integration with the surrounding environment. This design approach is complemented by meticulous engineering of the naval platform. While prioritizing volume, livability and comfort, M|38 delivers outstanding performance for its category: thanks to conventional propulsion, it can reach a maximum speed of 30 knots, confirming Maiora’s ability to combine architectural quality, efficiency and the pleasure of cruising without compromise.
“Some projects update an aesthetic. Others redefine the way people inhabit a space. The M Collection belongs to the latter category,” comment Franco Carone, Matteo Broglia and Andrea Sartori of Quartostile. “We wanted to eliminate the perception of a yacht made up of separate environments and instead imagine a continuous organism, in which interior and exterior spaces are in constant dialogue and the sea becomes part of the living experience. The stern, too, stems from this philosophy: not as the conclusion of the yacht, but as a dynamic space, a true waterfront lounge that changes in configuration and meaning throughout the day. For us, design is not about form itself, but about what that form is capable of making people perceive. Today, M|38 represents the fullest expression of this vision and the manifesto of the maturity achieved by the M Collection,” they add.
One of the project’s most distinctive features is the reinterpretation of the stern area, conceived not simply as an outdoor space, but as a true extension of the living environment towards the sea. The beach area, developed on the Main Deck in continuity with the cockpit, redefines the relationship between yacht and surroundings through folding bulwarks and a swimming pool with a flush-fitting, retractable walk-on cover. This solution transforms the stern into a true terrace over the sea, expanding the available surface and creating an exceptionally versatile space capable of adapting to different moments throughout the day — from conviviality to complete privacy, from relaxation to socializing on board. With a layout designed to accommodate up to 12 guests in five cabins — one owner’s suite and four guest cabins — together with crew accommodation for five people and configurable to accommodate up to seven, M|38 confirms its vocation for extended stays on board, combining privacy and comfort with an efficient spatial organization designed to ensure impeccable service.
MAIN DECK
The entire main deck has been conceived as an architectural continuum, in which every function contributes to an overall sense of fluidity. The continuity between the saloon, cockpit and beach area is one of the project’s defining features: expansive side glazing and electrically operated sliding doors in smoked glass amplify the perception of space, creating an environment in which the boundary between interior and exterior increasingly dissolves. Integrating access to the engine room within the corridor eliminates any interference with the cockpit, leaving the outdoor area completely unobstructed and enhancing the purity of the overall design. The main saloon, measuring approximately 51 square meters with ceiling heights ranging from 2.25 to 2.35 meters, exceeds the standards of its category, offering exceptionally bright and versatile surroundings. A comprehensive study of storage and technical spaces also allows the layout and furnishings to be quickly reconfigured according to the owner’s requirements.
The dining area is enhanced by a Nero Belvedere marble table with a matching rug in the same material, a solution characteristic of high-end international hospitality and rarely found on yachts of this size. Forward, the approximately 45-square-metre full-beam owner’s suite has been designed as a space to be enjoyed throughout the day. In addition to the sleeping area, the suite features an office-dressing area overlooking the sea and fully separable from the main space, a dedicated vanity area and a his-and-hers bathroom with separate compartments connected by a large central shower measuring 1.20 meters in width — a layout developed to meet the expectations of an increasingly international clientele. Even the day head, traditionally conceived as a purely functional space, is reinterpreted as a design environment, with full-height onyx walls, a travertine washbasin and a backlit organic-shaped mirror.
LOWER DECK
The lower deck accommodates four guest cabins, comprising two VIP cabins and two guest cabins, designed to offer levels of comfort normally associated with yachts in a higher category. The VIP cabins are developed in warm, natural tones and incorporate vanity areas, bespoke furnishings and decorative partitions that contribute to a welcoming and elegant atmosphere. The crew area comprises a dedicated crew mess, cabins with en-suite bathrooms and generous technical spaces, with the option, upon request, to add an additional cabin accommodating up to seven crew members.
SUNDECK AND UPPER PILOT HOUSE
The upper deck has been designed as a fully walkaround space, accessible from stern to bow, offering maximum freedom in the configuration of the outdoor areas. The independent and panoramic Pilot House enjoys 180-degree forward visibility and harmoniously integrates the second helm station, lift bar and access to the lower decks without compromising the livability of the spaces. The wheelhouse reflects the same level of customization found throughout the yacht, with dark leather upholstery, bespoke details, dedicated night-navigation lighting featuring LED strips and spotlights, as well as the possibility of configuring the helm according to the preferences of the captain and owner.
Materials, colors and light
The interiors developed by the Maiora Style Office interpret the philosophy of the M Collection through a language characterized by softness, tactility and organic detailing. Sharp edges are eliminated in favor of carefully considered curves that enhance comfort and ergonomics, while ceilings clad in sustainable Alcantara-effect materials interact with the bulwarks to create a continuous, enveloping effect. The colour palette revolves around sophisticated natural tones, with beige and dark brown enhanced by elegant glossy petrol-blue lacquered details. Marine Leather, ALPI wood veneers, dark-brown Listone Giordano parquet, Fior di Bosco marble by Savema, onyx and Nero Belvedere marble define a refined environment inspired by the codes of contemporary hospitality. Lighting is an integral part of the architectural concept, combining direct and indirect LED strips, dedicated lighting scenes, Cantalupi spotlights and decorative lamps to enhance materials, perspectives and volumes throughout the day.
