The concept was devised by Siep Keizer, the design is by Vripack / Keizer Yachts and the ship will be built according to own specifications at Bavaria Yachtbau in Germany. With now four vessels sold the new brand is making a successful start and the first ships are to be launched this year.
“Our goal was to develop a modern and fast open yacht with a lot of interior space and offering great value for money. After a career in yacht brokerage I saw possibilities for a beautifully lined yacht of about 13 meters with a completely open cockpit and a high volume interior. During the development of the Keizer 42 we took a good look at the needs of today’s water sports enthusiast. A new boat like the Keizer 42 should impress on the water through its fine line pattern. But functionality should be taken into account as well in doing so. Much attention was paid to the interior therefore, which was developed as a hotel studio. It offers generous headroom and sleeping accomodation to four people with a bathroom with toilet and shower cabin. The cockpit cover stores on top of the windscreen making it extremely practical and easy to handle”, says Siep Keizer.
Keizer Yachts is based in Dronten and was founded by Jos Brehler and Siep Keizer. The new Dutch company is selling the Keizer 42 through a dealer network. Presently five dealerships and two service points have been appointed in Europe. The ambition is to expand this dealer network quickly. Jos Brehler is an experienced entrepreneur. “We started this company out of a strong passion for water sports. We have made the choice from the start to hand over sales and production to specialists. In designing and engineering the yacht we sought cooperation with the specialized company Vripack in Sneek. They have contributed to our goal to develop a beautifully lined yacht with excellent seakeeping, optimal ergonomics and a very practical interior with lots of volume”.
The Keizer 42 is derived from the classic runabout. An open and fast cruising, classically designed yacht. Hull and deck are built in GRP on the basis of vacuum injection. Standard the yacht is equipped with twin Volvo Penta or Mercruiser engines. Optionally two Volvo D6 400 engines can be chosen, which deliver a top speed of around 40 knots.
