Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise: Debut At Cannes Yachting Festival 2023

The world debut of the Grand Soleil 72, Long Cruise version, is almost upon us.

The flagship of the Grand Soleil fleet, recently launched in Pesaro, is ready for the last leg of the journey, the most important for the people who have invested in an ambitious project: the world première at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023, from 12 to 17 September.

The Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise, like her twin in the Performance version, launched on the market last year, is a project curated by Cantiere del Pardo in collaboration with Franco Corazza, the project manager for the entire Grand Soleil range over 60 feet. At his side is a team of great professionals from the sailing world, such as Matteo Polli, Marco Lostuzzi and the Milanese studio Nauta Design. Together, they have created a model designed for owners who appreciate a made-to-measure approach and who love to live their adventures in comfort, safety and autonomy, while being highly considerate of the marine environment.

Tradition and attention to detail give shape to this project, built according to the highest standards of the nautical industry, the result of 50 years of history and experience gained by Cantiere del Pardo.

The distinguishing feature of the new Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise is its deckhouse, which is characterised by a large 270° window that has been shortened, raised and widened compared to the Performance version. In the cockpit, the companionway and the ladder have been moved to the side to obtain a “C” shaped seat and a straight seat, maintaining the two large sundecks at the stern, which also feature in the Performance version. In the Long Cruise version, the entire dinette is raised, allowing you to enjoy the view of the external landscape both in a sitting and standing position.

The layout of the interiors, according to the usual and appreciated touch of Nauta Design, relates perfectly with the geometries of the deck. Nauta conceived, designed and refined every volume and detail of the deck and interiors to use all available spaces, thus obtaining a coherent and holistic relationship between them. The dimensions, ergonomics, stowage, functions and quality of all the accessories guarantee superyacht standards. The design and the various material palettes create a sober, fresh, elegant and welcoming style in the interiors.

As with the Performance version, various internal layout solutions have also been studied for the Grand Soleil 72 Long Cruise: both versions have the owner’s cabin forward, but differ in the layout of the galley, which can be positioned forward or aft, and the guest and crew cabins can be in different positions.

The main hall of the Grand Soleil 72 is truly the yacht’s beating heart. To the left is a welcoming L-shaped sofa with a dining table that can comfortably seat up to eight people. Starboard is an elegant U-shaped sofa that extends towards the bow up to the chart area, with a wall-mounted dashboard and storage drawers underneath.

Currently, in addition to the launch of the GS72 LC, Grand Soleil has two Performance version GS72 hulls under construction: the first (hull #2) is undergoing assembly, while hull #3 is in the lamination phase. The Grand Soleil 65 is also scheduled for world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023. Two hulls are already in the works: the GS65 LC hull #1 is being assembled, while the 65 LC hull #2 is in the lamination phase.
