Following her recent launch, the current Queen of the range – the AB130 – is already undergoing final tests at AB Yachts’ quay in Viareggio.
This sporty, slender 40-meter vessel ‘flies’ on the water at a speed of over 40 knots and offers innovative and extremely functional volumes and spaces.
The large “extendable” beach area at the stern, quite rarely found on such sporty vessels, is undoubtedly this model’s core feature: when two large aft wings are deployed, the aft platform’s size grows exponentially, creating an incredibly spacious terrace on the sea.
What’s truly amazing, however, is that the beach area also flawlessly integrates with the aft cockpit and the main saloon to create one single convivial area: once the sliding doors of the saloon are opened to connect the indoor and outdoor areas and fully concealed, a huge, multi-purpose seamless space is obtained, exceeding 100 square metres and including a sea-view pool that can also be uncovered ‘on demand’.
Interesting solutions have also been devised to store and handle both the tender and water toys at best. Thanks to an ingenious float-in garage located aft and another garage at the bow, guests will be able to launch and use all kind of water toys (two 3-seater jet-skis, Seabobs, electric foil boards, SUP paddle boards, bikes and several inflatable systems) fast, easily and without interfering with life in the beach area; not to mention the 4.60-metre tender—quite a unique feature on a yacht in this class in terms of both size and performances, and another accomplishment in AB Yachts’ efforts to endow their new product range with increasingly functional solutions and unmatched versatility.
Another key strength of this yacht is her huge fly bridge, which offers a breathtaking view on the sea and can be easily customised to take comfort and conviviality to the next level.
Innovative materials and cutting-edge construction techniques go hand in hand with water-jet propulsion – which AB Yachts has been installing on their crafts since as early as 1992 – so as to deliver truly impressive performances, especially in terms of cruising efficiency and exhaust & consumption reduction: a speed of 40 knots in the utmost comfort and without the slightest vibrations; a range of 450 miles at a cruising speed of around 35 nots; a draught of as little as 1.30 metres, enabling the Owners to explore even the remotest, hidden destinations and cruise even the most shallow waters typical of the Caribbeans, Miami, and the Bahamas; and last, but not least, flawless stability ensured by latest-generation Seakeeper sk26 stabilisers.
This yacht’s large floor-to-ceiling windows let natural light flood the interiors and offer a 360° view on the sea, creating a smooth, uninterrupted flow with the outdoor areas. The saloon alone can boast a glazed surface of over 50 sq. m.
As is the case with every AB Yachts model, on this yacht too both layout and interior décor have been customised to the specific needs of the Owners, who, being experienced yachts people, knew exactly what they were looking for.
The essence of this yacht is that of a vessel which harmoniously combines top performances and carefree outdoor life, having been designed both to cruise the seas fast and safely and to deliver unmatched comfort and relaxation in an almost timeless atmosphere, always surrounded by incredible brightness and fully immersed in nature.
