Videoworks, industry leader in advanced audio-visual systems for the yachting sector, has introduced another AV and connectivity breakthrough with TELLI, the new Custom Line Navetta 38 owned by Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group.
The vessel features a ground-breaking AV and IT setup, setting a new standard in luxury yacht technology in its size category.
In fact, Custom Line Navetta 38 TELLI is equipped with a sophisticated audio system and high-speed connectivity based on a fully streaming approach without relying on traditional TVRO (Television Receive Only) satellite technology – a significant milestone in yacht AV systems.
“The owner requested a high-powered audio system and very fast Starlink connectivity offering streaming, internet and multiple pay-per-view services for an exceptional entertainment experience,” says Giovanni Varone, Yachting Sales Manager at Videoworks. “This marks the first time we’ve installed such advanced systems, which are more common on 60 or 70-metre yachts, on a project of this size.”
A perfect audio experience
Custom Line Navetta 38 TELLI ‘s AV system features top-of-the-line K-array speakers and James’ loudspeakers for exterior sound, providing exceptional audio quality in the open-air spaces. Inside, the yacht boasts an elegant, design-focused audio solution with a sleek Bang & Olufsen (B&O) soundbar (Beosound Theatre) and subwoofer (Beolab 19) home theater system, while the lower deck and owner’s cabin benefit from flush-mounted K-Array audio systems.
“For the vessel’s beach area, we installed a compact pop-up, mini speaker system – a new product from Videoworks based on our pop-solution designed to provide high-quality sound while blending seamlessly into the platform when not in use,” says Systems Engineer Lorenzo Petecchia. “These speakers are connected to Videoworks’ Slim Audio Matrix via special software that automatically calibrates the audio for a perfect listening experience.”
At the heart of the AV system is a new web engine based on HTML5. This innovative platform allows for control of the AV set-up via a user-friendly domotic interface on multiple devices, including tablets, smartphones, and PCs, with the interface dynamically adapting to each device.
The hardware components are housed in two centralised racks and a smaller rack dedicated to decoder distribution. This streamlined setup fits neatly into the available technical spaces aboard the yacht for clean and efficient use of space.
Quality connections
The owner wanted his yacht to be “domeless” – that is without any traditional domes for VSAT antennas. “Indeed, Custom Line Navetta 38 TELLI represents the future of onboard connectivity that focuses on streaming content and is equipped with two high-performance Starlink maritime antennas, capable of download speeds up to 220 Mbps, enabling fast and reliable internet access anywhere on the globe, plus two 5G Sim card modems as back-up systems,” says Paolo Tagliapietra, Connectivity & Communication Solutions BU Manager.
One of the most unique aspects of this yacht is this complete reliance on streaming for content delivery – a game-changer for the yachting industry. The integration of Sky Italy streaming decoders and Smart TV apps ensures that the vessel’s entertainment system functions smoothly.
“We’re incredibly proud of this project,” concludes Giovanni Varone. “The combination of cutting-edge audio technology and advanced connectivity, along with the sleek and user-friendly web engine interface, makes Custom Line Navetta 38 TELLI one of the most innovative yachts of her size ever built. It paves the way for future yachts that will rely entirely on streaming content, offering guests a truly unique AV experience at sea.”
