ESG Shipping Awards International – The Conference 2026 to take place on 3rd November

Award-winning companies will present the decisions and lessons behind their recognised performance.

ESG Shipping Awards International will hold “The Conference 2026” on 3rd November at the Asteria Glyfada [Domus] in Athens, bringing this year’s award winners back to the stage. The event carries the tagline “What changed. What worked. What’s next?” The organisers say the conference aims to go beyond showcasing achievements and to contribute to the future of sustainable shipping. Through strategic discussions, industry perspectives and conversations with award-winning companies, participants will examine the challenges, emerging risks and opportunities facing the maritime industry. The stated goal is to encourage new thinking and the adoption of successful practices, and to support progress towards a more sustainable, resilient and competitive sector.

The programme

The discussions are organised in four thematic sections, following the ESG framework:

  • The Global Strategic Perspectives section covers geopolitics and maritime security, regulation and competitiveness, the financing of shipping’s transition, and nuclear power at sea.
  • The Environment section focuses on decarbonisation, innovation and ocean stewardship. Topics include climate action and fleet efficiency, future fuels and fleet transformation, AI, digitalisation and operational performance, biodiversity and ocean protection, and circularity and responsible procurement.
  • The Social section addresses people, wellbeing and shared value. It includes seafarer wellbeing and safety, diversity and inclusion, future skills and workforce readiness, employee engagement, and community contribution and social impact.
  • The Governance section deals with leadership, accountability and resilience. Topics include ESG strategy and transformation, corporate governance and accountability, risk management and regulatory compliance, transparency and responsible business practices, and perspectives from listed and private shipping companies.

The one-day event is aimed at shipping leaders, award-winning companies and industry experts. Registration and the full agenda are available through the organisers’ website.
