Azimut launches the contemporary superyacht combining Hull Vane® foil technology and carbon fiber, where lightness creates new possibilities, freeing up space to dedicate an entire Deck to the owner. Enjoyed in the silence of Mild Hybrid technology.
The launch of the first Grande 44M confirms the success of the strategy that has led Azimut to achieve leadership in the superyacht segment over the years. Today, over two-thirds of the brand’s production value is represented by models over 24 meters, a testament to a corporate vision rewarded by the market and the trust of owners. The expansion of the range culminates in the new Grande 44M, which debuts in the water with seven units already sold to owners.
The new flagship marks the final leg of Azimut’s journey to define the contemporary superyacht, combining the evolution of its design language—created by international design excellence—with continuous technological innovation. The use of carbon fiber, which accounts for more than 50% of the vessel, is the cornerstone of the project: reducing the overall weight of the superstructure allows for an unprecedented four-deck architecture that breaks with the traditional layout. The fourth deck, which houses the wheelhouse and is perfectly integrated into the sleek profile designed by Alberto Mancini, frees the Upper Deck of all technical spaces, transforming it into an entire deck dedicated to the owner with private terraces overlooking the horizon.

Aft, the Grande 44M features the Mezzanine Deck with a Sea View Terrace, a defining element of the Grande Trideck, made even more iconic by the See-Through Pool: a plunge pool that plays with transparency to maintain visual contact with the sea and create caustic effects that make the beach club even more magical.
The original layout allowed m²atelier architecture studio to translate the design into a manifesto of intentional living. Here, the interior balances functionality and aesthetics in environments designed to give new spaces to the owner, along with the freedom to inhabit it as they please. This is how the bow area of the upper deck is transformed: a veranda dining area for twelve, a private media room, or a space for guests. In every configuration, enormous windows break down visual boundaries and open a 180° view of the outdoor bow lounge where, around the firepit, guests gather to watch the sunset over the water. m2atelier—internationally renowned for projects ranging from elite residences to product design—envisions a clear and uncompromising style for Azimut, punctuated by subtle, refined details.

The Grande 44M epitomizes the pinnacle of Azimut’s technological research, establishing herself as the flagship of the Low Emission fleet with a reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 30% compared to traditional naval architecture of the same size. This achievement sees engineering innovations serve a single purpose: to ensure maximum design freedom and the owner’s absolute well-being through the synergy of complementary solutions:
- Structural lightening: the extensive use of carbon fiber—over 1,000 square meters and 8 tons of weight reduction in the uppermost areas of the vessel—allows for increased onboard volumes without compromising the stability, performance, and overall efficiency of the hull. An achievement made possible by the strategic investments of the Azimut|Benetti Group, particularly in the new Composites Hub in Massa, a center of excellence dedicated to fiberglass and carbon fiber.
- Hull Vane® foil technology: developed in collaboration with the company of the same name, it consists of a carbon fiber foil installed aft to suppress the stern wave and generate additional thrust. This represents a breakthrough in lightweight engineering: if made of steel, the foil would have weighed a full 1,500 kg, while Azimut’s technical contribution in the application of carbon fiber has allowed it to be reduced to just 400 kg. The use of the Hull Vane® foiltranslates into a significant reduction in hydrodynamic drag and superior onboard comfort, thanks to the substantial decrease in pitch and roll.

- The Dual Mode hull: designed by the Azimut|Benetti Group R&D department in partnership with P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture, it combines the advantages of a fast displacement hull at the bow with those of a semi-planing hull at the stern, optimizing fuel efficiency across the entire speed range.
- Solar panels: 30 square meters of integrated photovoltaic surface on the fourth deck to support the hotel load.
- The Mild Hybrid system: developed by the Azimut|Benetti Group with Asea Nautica, the system is based on two 50 kW electric motors configured as shaft generators and a 188-kWh battery room (expandable up to 230 kWh). This technology allows the yacht to remain at anchor with the generators off and in absolute silence for 3 to 4 hours during the day and 8 to 10 hours at night. This solution eliminates fumes and noise, revolutionizing the quality of life onboard. The Mild Hybrid system also fully recharges the battery pack in just two hours at a speed of 15 knots, allowing the yacht to use the average repositioning time to reach the next bay with renewed Zero Emissions hotel load autonomy.
The launch of the Grande 44M marks the beginning of the final outfitting phase before delivery, but it already represents a milestone in Azimut’s history. The Grande 44M will make its world debut at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival.
