ISA Yachts presents ISA Amarcord 86, a new 86-meter superyacht designed by Nuvolari Lenard featuring distinctive deck spaces.
ISA Yachts, a Palumbo Superyachts brand, presents ISA Amarcord 86, the second interpretation of the new ISA Large Yacht Collection and a new expression of the shipyard’s ability to transform an established technical platform into projects that differ profoundly in personality, architecture and approach to life at sea. With an overall length of 86 metres and a beam of 13.6 metres, ISA Amarcord 86 expands the narrative of the Collection through a project centred on the onboard experience. Rather than a simple increase in size compared with Amarcord 82, it offers a different interpretation of the contemporary large yacht, where each deck has its own identity and accompanies the owner and guests through different moments of the day: from a more direct connection with the sea to privacy, from conviviality and wellbeing to entertainment.
Designed by Nuvolari Lenard, ISA Amarcord 86 features a sleek, perfectly proportioned silhouette in which the bold character of the hull is balanced by softer, more fluid superimposed volumes. Expansive glazed surfaces, hull openings and strong visual continuity between the decks lighten the yacht’s overall mass and enhance the dynamism of its profile. Above all, however, it is in the arrangement of its spaces that Amarcord 86 reveals its personality. At the stern, a generous fixed swim platform creates the first true living space in direct contact with the water. In addition to the two fold-down balconies, the large beach club hatch further expands the area when opened, naturally creating a pleasant shaded zone on the platform. This level houses a massage room and a bright sea-view gym, directly connected to the beach club and wellness area by a glazed passageway running through the engine room. It is a striking design solution that transforms the yacht’s usually concealed technical heart into an integral part of the architectural experience.
A dramatic circular staircase, arranged around a panoramic glass lift, rises vertically through the decks and becomes one of the recurring architectural features of the entire project. Amidships, an additional fold-down hatch creates a second point of direct access from the sea, making the connection between life on board and the water even more immediate. On the Main Deck, outdoor life at the stern centres on a large panoramic pool, the cockpit’s true visual focal point. Its glass bottom allows natural light to filter down to the level below, creating an evocative visual connection with the entrance to the beach club. The pool is set within a large terrace divided into distinct lounge and social areas, while inside, the main saloon naturally continues the design language of the exterior spaces. The result is a fluid and versatile environment able to adapt to the different moments of life on board.
The interiors are characterised by generous volumes and a layout designed for extended stays on board, while retaining the atmosphere and proportions of a grand residence. The guest accommodation comprises five cabins, including a VIP suite, all with private bathrooms. A twin cabin is located on the Lower Deck. Measuring more than 100 square metres, the owner’s suite is positioned on the Upper Deck and conceived as a true private residence at sea. Moving up to the Upper Deck, the yacht’s character changes as the spaces take on a more intimate and secluded dimension, dedicated primarily to the owner and their family. Forward, an elegant outdoor living area is arranged around a central pool flanked by two spacious lounge areas. Beyond it lies one of Amarcord 86’s most remarkable spaces: a vast, entirely open aft deck that can be used as an exclusive private terrace or as a venue for outdoor events and receptions.
The area is also equipped for touch-and-go operations by medium-sized helicopters, adding further versatility to a space that can assume entirely different configurations according to the owner’s requirements. The Bridge Deck, meanwhile, expresses the yacht’s more convivial side. A further dining area opens onto a large outdoor lounge arranged around an atmospheric central fire pit. Generous sofas and informal seating create a setting designed for sunset and evening hours, transforming the stern into a true lounge suspended above the sea. The journey culminates on the Sun Deck, conceived not simply as the yacht’s uppermost deck, but as a private destination in its own right. Here, a generous bar with a teppanyaki grill occupies a sheltered area, complemented by a forward pool with sunpads and numerous panoramic lounge spaces. This sequence of settings allows the deck to be enjoyed throughout the day while consistently maintaining a high level of comfort and privacy. Below deck, the crew area comprises eleven cabins accommodating up to 21 people. The captain has a double cabin on the Bridge Deck.
ISA Amarcord 86 thus interprets the contemporary superyacht through a sequence of distinct experiences, where architecture, function and style work together to create a new dimension of life at sea. With this second project, the ISA Large Yacht Collection clearly demonstrates its purpose: not a range of predefined models, but a design platform open to creativity, capable of generating profoundly different yachts developed around each owner’s personality, requirements and way of experiencing the sea. The Collection represents the natural evolution of Palumbo Superyachts’ experience in the large-yacht segment. The shipyard is currently building major ISA projects of up to 100 metres, complemented by the expertise gained through the construction of the Columbus Classic 80m M/Y Dragon: a wealth of design, engineering and construction know-how that now forms the foundation of the ISA Large Yacht Collection. Amarcord 86 was therefore not conceived simply to be larger. It was conceived to offer more ways to experience the sea.
