SY Design unveils Kairos, a lightweight 52-meter aluminum yacht concept prioritizing seamless ocean views, open terraces, and vast indoor-outdoor living spaces.
Italian design firm SY Design, established by Matteo Sassone and Veronica Yien, has pulled back the curtains on Kairos, a 52-meter motor yacht concept crafted to maximize the connection between passengers and the ocean. Built with a lightweight aluminum hull, the vessel prioritizes seamless, open-plan environments that encourage an organic, easygoing lifestyle across every level. Its exterior profile is defined by sleek, fluid lines running effortlessly from the bow to the stern, giving the superyacht a balanced yet highly energetic aesthetic.
The standout element of the layout is positioned at the stern. Here, a spacious beach club features a sea-level swimming pool fed by a cascading waterfall, anchoring the onboard experience directly to the marine environment. Large openings in the side hulls expand the panoramic vistas and flood the entire space with multi-directional natural light. A short flight of stairs leads up to the main deck cockpit, which functions as an airy, waterfront terrace complete with casual, twin L-shaped lounges and glass bulwarks to keep views entirely unobstructed.
While the aft deck is highly appealing, the sundeck serves as one of the primary open-air hubs on Kairos. Offering approximately 105 square meters of versatile space, it can be tailored to the owner’s preferences—whether hosting lively gatherings, unwinding in private, or sunbathing on the expansive pads and plush seating. Similarly, the forward deck offers great flexibility; it has been kept purposefully minimalist and clear, allowing freestanding furniture to be rearranged based on the day’s activities.
Kairos is engineered with a generous nine-meter beam, maintaining a total interior volume just under the 500GT limit. This design choice opens up vast internal living areas, meticulously mapped out to strike a perfect harmony between quiet private quarters and vibrant social hubs, all while ensuring effortless foot traffic throughout the ship.
The yacht comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests across six staterooms. Five of these guest cabins are nestled on the lower deck, while the traditional layout places the master suite forward on the main deck, where the owner can enjoy sweeping, panoramic views through massive floor-to-ceiling windows.
Storage for water sports and support boats is split between two separate garages. A forward compartment is dedicated to jet skis and a rescue tender, whereas the primary tender is housed in an aft garage that features a user-friendly side-launch system.
This debut follows the studio’s launch of Anvil earlier this year, a 45-meter explorer yacht concept rooted in a design philosophy of bold, stylistic contrasts.
