Heesen Yachts announced that YN 18455 (aka Project Antares) 55m Fast Displacement motoryacht has been sold.
The client, a seasoned American superyacht owner, was introduced to the shipyard by Thom Conboy of Heesen Yachts USA. This is the second contract Thom Conboy has facilitated in 2017, and the third since he was appointed as US representative of this Dutch shipyard. Thanks to her Fast Displacement hull, Project Antares optimises space, speed, and fuel efficiency in a design package of approximately 740GT. Her muscular exterior lines are by Omega Architects, who have created a design that is proving to be very successful.
The perfect balance of indoor and outdoor space offers the owner and his guests plenty of entertainment space for every occasion, including a 55sqm beach club. Twelve guests will be accommodated in six luxurious staterooms, including a full-beam VIP cabin, two twins, two double cabins on the lower deck, and an impressively spacious 80-sqm owner’s apartment on the main deck forward. Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski has created a very sophisticated interior design using precious Travertino and Calacatta marbles and Alpilignum teak.
“The style we have created in collaboration with Margherita Casprini for this new Heesen 55m couples the aesthetics of the most contemporary Italian design with the ingenious engineering typical of this Dutch shipyard, with whom we have been collaborating with great satisfaction for the past few years,” comments Francesco Paszkowski.
“We played with chiaroscuro, light and shade, choosing fabrics and veneers that create a warm and cosy atmosphere. The design is characterised by geometric elements that are consistently repeated throughout the whole interior and highlight the coherence of the design philosophy, while the combination of wood and reflective elements gives a sense of openness.” Project Antares’ luxurious interiors are being crafted by the fine carpenters of Heesen Yachts Interiors. Heesen is one of the few shipyards in the world that does not have to outsource fine carpentry as it has its own interior building company, with 80 highly specialised carpenters.
Thanks to the progressive hull design devised by van Oossanen Naval Architects, Project Antares offers a maximum speed of 16 knots and frugal fuel consumption coupled with a remarkable range of 4,500nm at 13 knots. Combining magnificent comfort with optimised efficiency throughout the speed spectrum, Heesen 55m FDHF sets a new standard in superyacht performance. Project Antares will undergo intensive sea trials in the North Sea prior to the delivery to her new owners in November 2018.
