Venice July 01, 2024. Ivan Gardini’s sloop Naïf (1973) wins the Overall of the Principality of Monaco Trofeo le Vele d’Epoca in Laguna BNL BNP Paribas Wealth Management Cup, Aon Special Award repeating the victory obtained last year.
This edition of the regatta, promoted by the Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco in Venice Anna Licia Balzan, has confirmed itself as an unmissable event for the owners of the most beautiful vintage sails in the Upper Adriatic, setting a new record with 31 participating boats built between 1858 and the 2000s.
The scheduled regattas took place with optimal weather and sea conditions, calm seas and strong breezes allowed the public to admire the traditional sailing from the banks of San Marco which this year saw two Italian excellences parading on the catwalk: the Ladies of the Sea they were accompanied by a fleet of fifty historic Rivas, the wooden motorboats created by Carlo Riva and which have become a global icon thanks to film stars, kings, sheikhs and entrepreneurs.

The Trophy was organized under the sporting direction of Mirko Sguario, president of the Venice Yacht Club and patron of the Venice Hospitality Challenge, in collaboration with the Circolo Velico PortodiMare, Salone Nautico Venezia, Vela Spa and with the patronage of the Navy, Le Città in Party, and of A.I.V.E. Italian Association of Vintage Sails. President of the Regatta Committee Giancarlo Frizzarin assisted by judges Emilia Barbieri and Belinda Maniero. The results of the individual regattas will contribute to the score for the awarding of the A.I.V.E. Cup. of the Adriatic 2024.
