Perfection Pro, the newest addition to AkzoNobel’s International range of topcoats, has received the seal of approval from professional applicator, Andre Schoonbergen of Schoonbergen AG in the Netherlands, after he used the high-performance formula on his own boat.
Andre, who has over 24 years’ experience in the yacht industry, explains: “I decided to test Perfection Pro on my own boat, which hadn’t been painted in a long time. The boat was hauled from the water and I then applied Perfection Pro with a roller. What really impressed me was the ease of application and distinctness of image (DOI), which is normally only achieved with spray coating. The size of the substrate really didn’t matter; you still got a perfect result.”
Perfection Pro is a two-part polyurethane topcoat, which delivers a long-lasting, mirror-like high gloss, high-performing finish. It offers excellent UV protection and resistance to fuel, oil, mild acids and detergents. Supplied in a wide range of new colours, Perfection Pro can also be mixed on demand with a choice of two different binders, to optimise application and meet customers’ unique requirements.
Andre continues: “Once my boat was back in the water, I did nothing to it all summer; I was keen to see how the paint would look. The results were amazing. I ran my hand over the paint and the gloss was still there! All my customers have been commenting on the boat and saying that they too want that paint for their boats.”
