Sturge & Toth has unveiled the interior of 52-metre Gladius 52 crossover yacht, designed for long-range global exploration.
Following its initial debut at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show, design house Sturge & Toth has shared the first interior renderings of its 52-metre Gladius 52 Crossover Performance Yacht. This vessel represents the latest addition to an evolving design line from the studio. Engineered specifically for extended global exploration, the yacht features a robust steel full-displacement hull paired with a lightweight aluminium superstructure. By remaining just under the critical 499GT volume threshold, the layout successfully maximizes onboard versatility and passenger comfort during long stints at sea.
Visually, the Gladius 52 is defined by a sleek, athletic silhouette heavily influenced by modern automotive design. This aesthetic is achieved through sharp, sweeping lines, sculpted exterior surfaces, and extensive floor-to-ceiling glazing. The profile is further enhanced by an exposed storage bay for tenders and a distinctively sculpted, open beach club area. According to Benjamin Julian Toth, the studio’s head of exterior design, the yacht’s commanding bow mirrors the strength of a traditional explorer ship slicing through ocean waves, while the sharp overall contours were mathematically refined to ensure peak hydrodynamic efficiency.
Step inside, and the interior layout trades traditional maritime formality for a relaxed, “barefoot luxury” environment characterized by structural fluidity, warmth, and ease. The living spaces utilize a sophisticated palette of soft, understated neutrals that are amplified by an abundance of natural light. Low-profile, contoured furniture dominates the social spaces, complemented by layered textures and organic finishes that evoke a welcoming, residential feel. Sturge & Toth notes that because the project is in its conceptual phase, clients retain a high degree of freedom to customize the layout to their personal tastes.
The exterior decks are engineered with multifunctionality in mind. The main deck aft features a raised platform that can easily transition from an open-air guest lounge into either a touch-and-go helipad or an additional tender storage zone. Moving up to the bridge deck, an alfresco sky lounge provides direct access to the expansive sundeck, which comes fully equipped with a dining arrangement, a Jacuzzi, a bar, and dedicated lounging spots. For those seeking ultimate seclusion, an integrated stairway climbs even higher to an “Eagle’s nest” observation lounge positioned near the mast. Situated 11 metres above the waterline, this private perch features a sunbed and uninterrupted panoramic views. Additional luxury amenities scattered across the decks include a gym, a sauna, a wet bar, and fold-down balconies that extend the interior living space over the water.
The vessel comfortably accommodates up to eight guests. The standout cabin is a private “owner’s hideout” positioned forward, boasting elevated ceilings, an integrated skylight, and a spacious private lounge area. Co-founders Toby Sturge and Ben Julian Toth summarize the project as a high-performance crossover vessel that blends deep explorer capabilities with an effortless, calming interior meant to make owners and their guests feel instantly at home.
On the engineering front, the hull has been meticulously optimized for maximum stability and efficiency, allowing the yacht to deliver a class-leading hydrodynamic performance for vessels under 500 GT. This design grants the yacht an impressive transatlantic range of up to 5,500 nautical miles. The vessel’s technical profile is rounded out by next-generation propulsion, cutting-edge navigation electronics, hidden mooring mechanisms, and integrated hull stabilizers.
