World Premiere in CannesYYachts to showcase the all-new Y6 and new Y7 at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The Cannes Yachting Festival has long been regarded as the traditional boat showseason opener for the international yachting industry and remains one of the world’smost influential in-water boat shows. Every September, the event brings together theleading shipyards, designers and owners on the French Riviera, providing the stagefor many of the industry’s most significant world premieres.
This year, Germanshipyard YYachts will use the prestigious event to present two highlights of its fleet–led by theworld debut of the all-new Y6 alongside the latest generation of the highlysuccessful Y7.Designed for owners who value independence, simplicity and uncompromisingluxury, the new Y6 represents the next evolution of YYachts’ philosophy.

At just under20 metres, she has been conceived as a true bluewater cruiser that can be sailedcomfortably byone person or a couple, while offering the living space, craftsmanshipand refinement typically associated with much larger superyachts.”The Y6 was developed in direct response to owners who wanted the freedom of solosailing without giving up the luxury of a true superyacht,” says Gregor Bredenbeck,Sales Director of YYachts. “Every aspect of the yacht reflects this philosophy, fromher deck layout to the extensive interior configuration options.”Designed by renowned American naval architect Bill Tripp, the Y6 follows the clean, elegant lines that have become a hallmark of the YYachts range.
Her deck has beencarefully arranged to allow complete control from the helm, enabling safe andrelaxed short-handed sailing even on extended passages.Like every model in the YYachts portfolio, the Y6 is built entirely from advancedcarbon epoxy. The lightweight construction delivers impressive sailing performanceeven in light windswhile providing exceptional structural stiffness and efficiency.Below deck, the Y6 sets a new benchmark for flexibility in her class. Owners canchoose between three-and four-cabin layouts, while additional configuration optionsinclude a dedicated office instead of a lounge, a forward crew cabin or individuallytailored owner’s accommodation. Rather than offering fixed solutions, the yacht hasbeen conceived as a platform that adapts to the lifestyle of each individual owner.

This philosophy extends to the interior design. For the Y6, YYachts once againcollaborated with internationally acclaimed Danish architect David Thulstrup, whosedistinctive design language already shaped the flagship Y8. Together with theMallorca-basedYYachts Design Team under the direction of Francesca Modica, fourentirely new interior concepts have been developed. The collaboration merges Mediterranean sophistication with Nordic clarity, resultingin interiors that are both timeless and contemporary.
Each concept features its owncarefully curated palette of colours, textures and premium materials, allowing owners to express their personal style.”The interior of the Y6 is crafted for people with exceptional taste–individuals whoknow exactly what they want,” says Francesca Modica, Head of Design at YYachts.”The four concepts allow maximum personalisation without compromising our cleardesign language. Each creates its own atmosphere, ranging from minimalist andcontemporary to warm and inviting.”Alongside the new Y6, visitors to Cannes will also be able to discover the recentlyredesigned new Y7.

Following its successful worldpremiere earlier this year, theupdated 70-footer introduces numerous refinements byjudel/vrolijk & co. A keychange beside thenew hull design is an asymmetric entrance, which keeps thecockpit passage free at all times—improving flow and usability. Thecockpit itself ismore enclosed, enhancing onboard safety, and now features a U-shaped sofa on thestarboard sidefor greater comfort.Below deck, theengine room is no longer beneath the saloon floor, but relocated to adedicated technical space withdual access, including from the crew area. Thischange simplifies maintenance and improves separation between living andtechnical zones.
The Y7 has been received by clients very well and continues to build on its reputationas one of the benchmark performance cruisers in her class, with almost more than20 yachts already sailing worldwide.Visitors to the Cannes Yachting Festival are invited to experience both yachts on thewater, with the world premiere of the Y6 taking centre stage as the newestexpression of YYachts’ vision for modern luxury sailing. You will find the YYachts stand, as usual, in Port Canto.
