Dometic’s new WAECO CRX refrigerator has won a DAME Design Award in the ‘interior equipment, furnishing, materials and electrical fittings used in cabins’ category at this year’s METS.

The versatile new CRX is the first and only marine refrigerator with a removable freezer compartment, offering boat owners a unique three-in-one cabinet solution. The breakthrough patented design allows users to quickly slide out the freezer to easily transform the CRX into a larger capacity fridge-only unit or the temperature of the entire unit can be reduced as low as 17°F (-8°C) to provide a freezer-only unit.

Kester Petersson, Head of Business Development and Marketing EMEA - Marine Aftermarket, Dometic, said: “We are delighted that the DAME judges have recognised the innovations and advanced technology behind the new WAECO CRX. Further enhancing the reputation of the company as an established industry leader and refrigeration expert, the Dometic engineering team has developed a breakthrough concept which we feel will really benefit users. Durable, efficient, quiet, easy to use and stylish as well, the CRX provides boat owners with the most versatile refrigerator ever developed for the marine market.”

The sleek, modern-style WAECO CRX is available with either a stainless steel door or standard door in the following sizes: the 45-litre CRX-50, 57-litre CRX-65, 78-litre CRX-80, 109-litre CRX-110 and 136-litre CRX-140.

The DAME Jury considers the expected impact on the marine industry of entries, their suitability for intended purpose, the level of innovation, the cost effectiveness and environmental impact.
