Bolide 170: In preview at Monaco Yacht Show 2022

Victory Design will attend next Monaco Yacht Show with the world première of its new, stunning 170ft Bolide.

From 28th of September to 1st October, Victory Design will be attending the Monaco Yacht Show: the leading showcase for the luxury yachting industry.

Victory, an excellence in the high-performance segment and a symbol of Made in Italy, will be premiering its new Bolide 170: a 50m hyperyacht resulting from the experience of founder Brunello Acampora and his team of international designers and engineers.

Bolide 170 is the flagship of the BOLIDE range, launched with Bolide 80, currently under in-house construction with the collaboration of Persico Marine and with the careful supervision of engineer Eugenio Voltolina, project manager and inspiring member of the project.

Bolide 80 - a full-carbon masterpiece, with custom reinforcements by Microtex and structural cores by Diab - is the first Hyper Muscle Yacht, probably the fastest yacht in the world. In fact, it can travel in total comfort and safety at a cruising speed of over 55 knots with sprint speeds of up to 75 knots, powered by MAN diesel engines supplied by Ranieri & Tonissi, Victory's technological partner. Performance and seaworthiness are guaranteed by Victory's renowned hulls, combined with the patented T-Drive by Flexitab & TS propulsion system with composite flaps. An advanced design from the Victory Style Centre, dedicated to the tradition of the great Italian coachbuilders.

The interiors are designed to enhance the values of Made in Italy, with exposed carbon and fine leather hand-saddled by highly skilled craftsmen, lightened marble in the heads and advanced domotics for unprecedented comfort. The Bolide range will be made up of a limited number of boats: 9 plus 1 in the case of Bolide 80, numbered for each model, in a range from 60 to 170 feet.

Brunello Acampora's innovative and ambitious vision, is to propose a kind of yacht similar to a high- performance hypercar, which masterfully brings together design and technology, classic and futuristic materials, in the name of uniqueness.
"These are true collector's jewels, not serially but custom-built: each unit is unique and exclusive," says the designer.

Even in the case of Bolide 170, the Human Machine Interface HMI is very well thought out, with technology partners such as Boening and Xenta. The yacht will offer easy handling even at 70 knots, which is the top speed envisaged for the version with turbines and electric motors. It is a Formula 1 range, but easy and safe to drive, achieving high performance with reduced fuel consumption per mile: by 50% compared to yachts of the same length, thanks to its technological assets. The new design of the Bolide 170 was studied by Victory's engineers, both in the multi-motor diesel version, with sprint speeds of up to 50 knots, and in a special hybrid version with four gas turbines and electric motors, capable of reaching over 70 knots.

The diesel version features a light alloy hull and a carbon fibre superstructure; thanks to the modular use of the propulsion apparatus composed of six 2,200 hp MAN engines, in an unprecedented "triple staggered" geometry, two electric motors and a T-Drive by Flexitab & TS propulsion system with six surface propellers, without the installation of generators. The version with four gas turbines, on the other hand, features a composite hull and a hybrid electric apparatus with a latest-generation battery pack.

The layout of the Bolide 170 consists of large open spaces designed for everyday living in osmosis with the sea and the surrounding nature.
In addition to the Owner's suite, there are four guest cabins and a large crew area. The generous interior spaces are designed to encourage conviviality, while meticulously preserving privacy, with dedicated pathways for the owner and his guests, respecting the needs of the crews.

Architect Stefano Faggioni has teamed up with the Victory team to recreate the elegance of Italian design, the seaworthiness resulting from experience, winking at other declinations of luxury such as the high- fashion designer luggage with a skillful use of leather and visible stitching: typical of the great Italian tradition.

At the stern, the beach club is larger than other boats of a similar size, with folding terraces, transformers, and a 'bord de mer' swimming pool that joins the one located in the bow solarium, above the tender&toys area.

"These boats are designed for true collectors and for those who love the thrill - which cannot be waived - of speed, while experiencing it with up-to-date means, in total safety and reducing environmental impact. - explains Brunello Acampora.

As with the entire Bolide rage, the 170-footer's strengths include fuel economy and reduced emissions, but without sacrificing performance. This is the largest 'stepped hull' yacht, the result of the Victory team's experience and months of CFD studies, which led to the filing of two patents.
Brunello Acampora makes of avant-garde - and not just refinement - the hallmark of his work.

The company he founded 33 years ago has always been engaged in R&D, which he then transfers to production. An Italian with an Anglo-Saxon background, studying Yacht & Boat Design at Southampton's Solent University, Mr. Acampora is a leader in the concept of "total design", a vision of design as a moment of synthesis between art, science and technology in which functionality and performance go hand in hand with the elegance of shapes and with the Owner's experience.

On the Bolide project, Victory reconfirms its unrivalled quality, innovation and ambition.

Victory Design was born in 1989 from the intuition of Brunello Acampora.
The Company is engaged in wide-ranging boat design and engineering, working with international collaborators, in different offices in Italy and abroad. Many of the boats designed by Victory Design - such as the Gozzo 33 and the Dolphin 54 - won prestigious international awards such as the European Power Boat of the Year Award, most recently in 2020 for the Solaris Power 48 Open.
