Continuing a 30-year partnership, OMEGA supports Emirates Team New Zealand as Official Timekeeper for the 38th America’s Cup.
Continuing a long-standing partnership that first set sail over 30 years ago, OMEGA is supporting Emirates Team New Zealand as they seek to again defend their title at the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup. OMEGA’s association with Emirates Team New Zealand began at the America’s Cup in 1995. Based on the shared values of precision, innovation, and a passion for the ocean, the partnership was perfectly timed, as Team New Zealand won the trophy that year – followed by subsequent historic victories in 2000, 2017, 2021, and 2024. Throughout all those campaigns, OMEGA’s red branded bows have been a familiar sight on the Emirates Team New Zealand race boats.
Emirates Team New Zealand is now aiming to win the iconic sailing trophy for the fourth time in a row, and sixth time in its history. The Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup will be contested in 2027 in Naples; the first time that the competition will be sailed in Italy. Following their most recent victory in 2024, Emirates Team New Zealand will be positioned as the Defender and will race against the winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup in a “first to 7 wins” format known as The Match.
OMEGA President and CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann, says, “Emirates Team New Zealand continue to inspire us with the perseverance and technical excellence they bring to sailing. It is an honour to support them once again as they pursue the sport’s greatest trophy. Our journey together has remained strong throughout time—and highlights two partners committed to success.”
Emirates Team New Zealand CEO, Grant Dalton, says, “We are very proud to continue to have OMEGA’s iconic brand associated with the team once again for our defence of the 38th America’s Cup in Naples in 2027. For over 30 years now, OMEGA has always been a precision partner that strengthens our team and has played a significant part in our success in all five of our America’s Cup victories.”
To begin the sailing action for this edition, a Preliminary Regatta series will commence on May 21st, 2026, in Cagliari, Sardinia. This moment marks the first glimpse of the racing on the water, in the one-design AC40 foiling monohull boats that can reach up to 50 knots of boat speed. As well as supporting the entire Emirates Team New Zealand crew, OMEGA is also backing its family of individual sailing ambassadors, which includes Blair Tuke of Emirates Team New Zealand, who with all of the team, was part of the back-to-back America’s Cup triumphs in 2017, 2021, and 2024.
Continuing the brand’s legacy in sailing, and through its support of Emirates Team New Zealand, OMEGA will be positioned as the Official Timekeeper of the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup. Alongside the main competitions, this role will cover the broader America’s Cup programme including the return of the Women’s America’s Cup as well as the Youth America’s Cup.
