The Grand Soleil 46 LC, a completely Italian boat built by Cantiere del Pardo with interior and exterior design by Nauta Design and hull, appendages and sail plan by Marco Lostuzzi, was unanimously voted European Yacht of the Year 2016 in the Luxury Cruiser category on January 23rd during Boatshow Night at boot Düsseldorf 2016.
The European Yacht of Year award is currently in its twelfth year. The very qualified jury is composed of 11 nautical journalists from 11 different European nations. This team tests the same boats in the same conditions at the same time and in the same place then votes on the boat that performed best. After years of experience building Cruiser-Racers, Cantiere del Pardo has recently created the new Long Cruise line for blue water sailing, of which the Grand Soleil 46 LC is the first successful model (22 yachts already sold). This series of yachts boasts excellent performance features and comfortable, livable interiors for family cruising.
The new 46 LC has been designed for no limits, long distance sailing in complete freedom. Designed for enjoying the outdoors, this yacht is easy to sail and agile enough to maneuver in light wind conditions. The deck layout is practical, spacious and easy to use. The aft deck area is special: open, wide and functional both while under sail and while enjoying life at anchor. A roll bar incorporates both the mainsail sheet and the bimini and frees up the cockpit.
The boat’s dynamic and practical exteriors are combined with light, bright and inviting interiors. Furniture is in bleached oak but can be made by request in teak for a look that is bright, fresh and elegant. The Grand Soleil 46 LC is the first yacht in Cantiere del Pardo’s new Long Cruise line, a series that will see the continuation of the collaboration with Nauta Design on styling and interior design. The next project which will be launched in April 2016 is the new GS58 Performance designed in collaboration with Nauta Design and Umberto Felci.
