Amels 242 SYNTHESIS redelivered post refit

Damen Yachting announces the successful refit and departure of the award-winning Amels 242 SYNTHESIS from its Vlissingen shipyard facility.

Damen Yachting is pleased to announce the redelivery and departure of Amels Refit SYNTHESIS from its Amels build facility in Vlissingen following a successful refit period. As an Amels-built yacht, SYNTHESIS’ return to Vlissingen highlights the lasting value of her original pedigree and the specialist refit expertise within Damen Yachting.

Michel Coens, Head of Refit & Services at Damen Yachting, said: “A refit is rarely just about change. It is about recognising the enduring value already present in a yacht and carrying that forward with care, precision and deep technical understanding. For SYNTHESIS, returning to the yard where she was originally built brings a special depth to that process. With our knowledge of her design, engineering and build history, combined with the discipline and craftsmanship of a full-scale new build yard, we are able to help preserve her character while preparing her for the future.”

Delivered in 2021, Amels 242 SYNTHESIS is part of the Limited Editions range. She features exterior design by Tim Heywood and an interior by Winch Design, and was named winner of Best Interior Design, Motor Yachts 500GT and Above at the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards, held during the Superyacht Design Festival in Milan in 2022.

Built around expertise and access

Damen Yachting’s refit capabilities are supported by the knowledge, craftsmanship and technical expertise associated with Amels, alongside its two facilities in Vlissingen on the Dutch south coast. With direct access to the open sea, superyachts of all sizes can arrive and depart efficiently, while sea trials can be carried out directly from the yard. For Amels yachts, this offers the added value of access to teams with a deep understanding of the original build, helping to reduce the time, complexity and cost associated with repositioning.
