Nautor’s Swan announces the sale of two new Swan 78’s. The preliminary design was first presented at the beginning of this year and following further model development, these two yachts were sold to first-time Swan owners, to be delivered in Spring 2018.

The Swan 95 S is also nearing completion and is scheduled to be delivered next spring, together with the fourth Swan 115. If you add to this the recent Swan78 sales and the brand new Swan 65 design, which is going to be presented during the next Düsseldorf boat show, we can strongly affirm that more than ever, we are investing in developing new, innovative, beautiful, seaworthy yachts and the market is increasing quickly for us”.
A 1:1 mock-up interiors of Swan 78 has been built by Nautor's carpenters in BTC, Finland. Created to showcase the incredible volume of the yacht, it is available for visits.
All of Nautor´s know-how and experience in racing and cruising yachts have been incorporated into this new blue-water Swan 78. Her length has been deliberately contained in order to meet the EC 24.00 metre length overall limitation, and her hull form is beamy and very powerful. The modern hull lines, including a wide stern above the waterline, twin rudders and racing oriented keel design, are a reflection of the rapid evolution of yacht design during the past years, propelled by the experiences made on round-the-world races and other offshore events. The new boat will be faster, safer, easier to control and, as a result, more comfortable at sea. The keel options include deep telescopic lifting, fixed deep and fixed shallow possibilities yet maintaining stability, the same twin rudder configuration and standard sail plan.
The modern deck design features uncluttered surfaces and straightforward, simple solutions to sail handling and life at sea. The appearance is that of neatness and efficiency. The layout has been optimized for shorthanded sailing with 5 standard electric winches close to the helm stations and all ropes lead from the mast to cockpit. The cockpit has been designed with ‘maxi-style’ C shaped settees, 2 separate tables and a wide sprayhood with recessed housing. A large opening transom with a huge platform on the sea creates a perfect beach area of over 4 metres width.
Two options are offered for the interior, Owner Forward and Owner Aft. Life onboard is centered around the spacious main saloon, with panoramic 360° view, with both layouts sharing the same number of cabins: one double berth VIP and two twin berth layouts. Crew accommodations for two are ample and functional in both cases. The below-floor engine room, which keeps the same position regardless of layout choice, facilitates weight distribution, the planning of installations and flotation trim.
The Swan 78 is the perfect long distance cruising platform to sail around the world or just to spend long periods on board with friends or family, with full crew quarters, she is born to be easy to manage and to sail, even with a small crew. Additionally, being a Swan, she has the potential to excel as a top level racer, with carefully designed performance packages to upgrade her racing ability.
