The VIKINGFJORD, a 41.8-meter vessel, stands as the most environmentally sustainable ship of its kind in the polar regions. Originally a Norwegian maritime vessel, it has been expertly reimagined into a luxurious exploration ship.
Built with polar expeditions in mind, VIKINGFJORD has been meticulously refitted to minimize environmental impact, featuring an ice-strengthened hull and a biodiesel-capable engine to ensure eco-conscious cruising in the most pristine of polar environments. VIKINGFJORD is is the second yacht after FREYA that Ocean Independence offers as a central agent in polar waters.
Onboard VIKINGFJORD, twelve guests can enjoy five double cabins (four convertible to twins) and two single cabins, all designed with comfort and elegance in mind.
Each cabin is equipped with an ensuite bathroom and large windows to maximize natural light, creating a spacious and welcoming atmosphere. The Scandinavian-inspired interiors from 2023 enhance the sense of openness, offering a tranquil space for relaxation.
