The new BMW iX3 ushers in a sustainable high performance electric era.
The new BMW iX3 marks a truly new chapter for BMW, as the company introduces the first model of the Neue Klasse, its new generation of electric vehicles that brings radical technological changes and an enhanced driving experience. The new BMW iX3, a fully electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), incorporates the advanced sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, which delivers significantly increased power, improved efficiency, greater range, and impressively faster charging, setting new standards in electric mobility and redefining the brand’s strategy for the electric future.
Engineered for electric excellence
Designed from the ground up with electric mobility in mind, the iX3 combines dynamic aesthetics with high functionality and exceptional interior space. Its clean, modern design follows the principles of the Neue Klasse, emphasizing aerodynamic performance and optimal use of cabin space, while the additional storage under the hood enhances practicality for everyday use. At the same time, its premium character remains uncompromised, reflected in both the quality of materials and the overall sense of luxury. A central feature of the new iX3 is its completely new electronics and software architecture, built around four high-performance “supercomputers.” These units integrate and manage all critical vehicle systems -from driving and automated assistance to infotainment and comfort functions- creating the foundation for advanced digital and personalized experiences. Continuous software updates allow the vehicle to evolve over time, providing new functions and improvements without physical intervention.
Precision, performance and sustainable innovation
The Heart of Joy technology, combined with BMW Dynamic Performance Control, is key to the driving experience, ensuring extremely precise management of power, braking, and energy recuperation. The result is a smooth, efficient, yet dynamic road behavior. The base version, BMW iX3 50 xDrive, offers a range of up to 800 kilometers (WLTP), while fast DC charging at up to 400 kW allows rapid energy replenishment, making the model ideal for both daily use and long-distance travel.
The iX3 also debuts the next-generation BMW Panoramic iDrive, an innovative user interface based on the BMW Operating System X, offering a high level of adaptability and seamless interaction between driver and vehicle. This system integrates information, entertainment, and comfort functions into a single digital ecosystem, significantly enhancing the in-cabin experience. At the same time, BMW adopts a holistic sustainability approach in the design and production of the iX3, utilizing secondary and recycled materials as well as renewable energy sources, and reducing the vehicle’s overall carbon footprint by 34% over its entire life cycle.
