Damen Yachting opens its Vlissingen yard on 10 October, inviting the public to discover superyacht craftsmanship and technology.
On Saturday 10 October, Damen Yachting will open its Vlissingen yard on Koningsweg to the public from 10:00 to 16:00. During the Open Day, families, local residents, schoolchildren and other interested visitors will have the opportunity to discover first-hand what happens behind the yard gates. Through the event, Damen Yachting aims to foster local pride, inspire future generations and show how people, craftsmanship and technology shape the worldclass yachts built in Vlissingen.
Visitors will follow a dedicated route through the yard, gaining insight into the many disciplines involved in building a superyacht. Along the way, they will discover how specialist expertise, innovation, collaboration and a focus on sustainability all play a role throughout the build process. The Open Day offers a broader look at the world behind the yachts and at the people of Damen Yachting and its co-makers – specialist partner companies that work closely with Damen Yachting. Together, they make the construction of these yachts possible.

Our yard is a familiar sight to many people in Vlissingen, but what happens behind the gates often remains unseen. During the Open Day, we want to show just how much knowledge, craftsmanship, and collaboration go into building these yachts here. It is

Passing craftsmanship on to a new generation
The Open Day is very much an event for the whole family. Damen Yachting wants to introduce visitors to the people and craftsmanship behind the yachts in an accessible and personal way. For children, young people and schoolchildren, the day offers an introduction to the diversity of the maritime world. In doing so, Damen Yachting aims to spark curiosity and inspire a new generation. At the same time, the Open Day highlights the importance of Vlissingen as Damen Yachting’s maritime home.
