Amels 80 NETTO II sets off on her Maiden Voyage to the Med

The Amels 80 NETTO II has departed on her maiden Mediterranean voyage, marking the newest custom addition to Damen Yachting’s fleet.

Damen Yachting announces that the Amels 80 NETTO II has departed Vlissingen, marking the start of her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean. Built for an experienced Owner with a clear vision for active use at sea, NETTO II now joins the Amels Limited Editions fleet. Shaped by the Owner’s Vision With exterior design by Espen Øino and interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, Amels 80 NETTO II reflects the proven pedigree of the Amels Limited Editions concept. Her metallic dolphin blue hull, platinum bootstripe and white superstructure give her a distinctive exterior profile, with details throughout shaped around the lifestyle and vision of her Owner.

Owner’s representative Kees de Keizer highlighted the collaborative nature of the project: “The collaboration with Damen Yachting has been a pleasure. Throughout the build, we were able to rely on the shipyard’s expertise, flexibility and commitment to quality. The opportunities for customisation allowed us to realise the yacht the Owner had envisioned.”

Looking ahead to NETTO II’s first voyages, Captain Fraser Gow added: “It has been an immense privilege to serve as build captain for NETTO II and to be back at the Amels yard, watching the Owner’s dream take shape. She is a truly remarkable yacht, and I feel deeply honoured to be at the helm of such an extraordinary Amels 80 build. Leaving the Amels family behind is bittersweet, but now it is time for NETTO II to do what she was built for and I cannot wait to take her out onto the open ocean and begin the adventures that lie ahead” .

For Amels, the departure is both a proud moment and the beginning of NETTO II’s next chapter with her Owner. Jan van Hogerwou, Commercial Executive USA at Damen Yachting, said: “It has been a privilege to bring this experienced Owner’s vision to life. Created for an adventurous young family with a love of life on and in the water, NETTO II is ready for ocean exploration and time shared with family and friends. We wish NETTO II, her Owner and family fair winds and following seas”.

Designed for an Active Life at Sea

On board, NETTO II offers a considered arrangement of spaces for both social connection and privacy. She accommodates up to 14 guests across seven suites, including a private 517-square-metre Owner’s Deck and six additional cabins on the Main Deck. Her guest areas are designed around a natural connection between inside and outside living. The Main Deck Lounge features floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows and opens seamlessly to the exterior Aft Deck, while the spacious Sun Deck offers generous open-air living, complete with an oversized jacuzzi.

Closer to the water, the Beach Club opens to the sea on three sides and incorporates a wellness area with a gym, hammam and sauna. Above, a 6.5-metre glass-bottomed pool on the Main Deck Aft brings natural light into the Beach Club below, creating a visual connection between the decks. Among the distinctive Owner-specific details is a speakeasy-style bar inspired by a 1960s casino setting, adding a personal character to the yacht’s interior. Amels 80 NETTO II also features a forward tender garage for a wide range of watercraft and toys, together with a foredeck touch-and-go helicopter landing area. Her efficient hull design and modern propulsion technology support quiet, comfortable operation across extended voyages.

NETTO II follows the award-winning Amels 80 PANGEA, which received a Judges’ Commendation at the World Superyacht Awards 2026 in the Displacement Motor Yachts, 1,500GT to 2,499GT category. The recognition underlined the strength of the Amels 80, acknowledging its combination of ocean-going capability, design, engineering and personalisation within a series-built yacht.
