The New Pogo 44

The Pogo Structures shipyard, located in Brittany (France) for more than 30 years, builds around 850 fast sailing boats adapted to sailing the open sea with short crews, the famous Pogo.

After months of development and fine-tuning, Pog presents the details of the new POGO44.
From the drawing board of naval architects FINOT-CONQ once again, the POGO44 very much reflects the family spirit of the other models in the POGO range:
– On deck, the famous angled portlights of the POGO36 provide plenty of light and good forward vision from inside the boat, a useful attribute when on watch on long cruises.
– The twin tillers, as with the Pogo 36, allow for good visibility when steering, as well as providing more space for a large cockpit table. Steering wheels will also be available as an option.
– The ergonomics are similar to our other models: the cockpit layout is designed for short-handed manoeuvring. All the halyards and sheets are led to the coachroof pit, making it very easy for one person to tack, gybe or take a reef.
– The use of downwind sails will be simplified with a fixed bowsprit, which also incorporates the bow roller.
– The bow volume gives a clue to the performance capabilities of this boat.
– The mast comes in Aluminum or Carbon, with no backstay (as with our other models from the POGO30 to the POGO50), allowing for a wider, more powerful square top on the mainsail.

– Constant improvements in our building techniques have led to stronger and lighter structure, making it possible to increase the level of comfort while keeping weight down. The interior of the boat is faithful to the POGO STRUCTURES spirit with particular attention paid to weight at all stages of the build in order to optimise the centre of gravity, and therefore performance and power under sail.
– The saloon features an L-shaped bench seat on the port side which faces the large work surface and the galley on the starboard side.
– The two aft double cabins provide incredible volume for this size of sailboat.
It will be possible to equip the boat with one or two heads and a separate shower cabin.

– There is an option for one or two double cabins forward for more crew capacity.
– The lifting keel is the standard Pogo system. The fin is built in vacuum infused solid fiberglass and vinylester GRP with a lead bulb.
The reduced draft of the lifting keel in the up position allows access to the most protected anchorages.
The build quality of the 100% vacuum infused POGO44 ensures incredible seaworthiness for a long-distance cruising sailboat combined with an increased level of comfort to satisfy even the most experienced sailor.
