Refrigerant Dynamic S.O. | As Cool as the Green Side of Yachts

John Skordilis, co-founder of Refrigerant Dynamic S.O., talks about the top products they import into the Greek market and the cutting-edge technology that minimizes their energy footprint.

Refrigerant Dynamic is a company that has been active exclusively in the sector of Yachting for more than 26 years. More specifically, it specializes in the field of air conditioning - refrigeration and for the last 20 years in the desalination of seawater.

As its name suggests, it has followed a dynamic and constantly upward trend in the market. The vision shared with partner,

Nikolaos Koutelos, is to offer highly efficient and aesthetically pleasing and silent air conditioning systems that can guarantee the lowest consumption. As we all know, air conditioning is one of the biggest sources of power consumption on a yacht. Given the recent increase in the price of fuel, it has become necessary to reduce energy consumption. In recent years, hybrid technology has developed in all areas of human activity and, as far as yachts are concerned, this growth has helped to minimize their energy footprint.

Based on the above, the Italian Frigomar have successfully launched the BLCD inverter units to the global market. But what is BLCD technology? It is a system of multiple variable frequencies, meaning continuous control of the compressor speed of the unit. This results in the compressor constantly covering the losses of space, increasing or decreasing its speed (from 20Hz - 100Hz) depending on environmental conditions (sea and air temperature). In this way it achieves 98% energy efficiency. Conventional on - off units always operate at maximum efficiency, without this always being necessary, and at the same time they make frequent restarts. Frigomar technology has eliminated the cycle of continuous restarts, thus achieving the energy efficiency of the system without fluctuations in air temperature and power consumption. Thanks to this, the longevity of the system is secured along with a feeling of comfort.
