As a global yachting company, Burgess has been at the top of its game for almost 50 years. Founded by renowned ocean racer Nigel Burgess in 1975, the company has grown from one office in London to 14 worldwide. The Athens office opened just over 20 years ago and is now leading the charge when it comes to excellent service, unrivalled knowledge, and local expertise.
Dimitris Maroulis, Sales and Legal Representative and President of the Hellenic Yacht Masters’ Club, joined the company in 2005 after having served for over 20 years at sea. For him, the secret to success is the global knowledge sharing across the company mixed with the local expertise of teams on the ground.
“Being a leader in the sales market of superyachts, we have built a broker network that shares strategic intelligence and client relationships. Central to our approach is the cultivation of a robust local presence in Greece, anchored by a team of esteemed industry specialists who possess an intimate understanding of the region”, Dimitris says.
Burgess offers a wide variety of services ranging from Charter to Sales and Purchase, to New Builds, Operational Management and Crew, and the team in the Athens office are proud to be a part of it. Showcasing the truly global operation of the company, Partner and Broker Crispin Baynes started his career based out of the New York office before transferring over to Burgess Athens. Having sold some of the most well-respected superyachts he has brought his international insight to the team in Athens.
