SIMON’S MARINE | Harbour of Excellence

Dimitris Priftis and Sandy Papadopoulou, the second generation at the helm of SIMON’S MARINE, talk to Skipper ONDECK about the long course of the family business, their collaboration with JOTUN, a leading marine paint supplier, and the “magic formula” that makes them stand out.

What have you learnt after 45 years of maintaining vessels and technically supporting customers and partners?

Simon’s Marine is a family business, which has been active in the shipping industry since 1979. Over the last 45 years our main concern has been to create bonds with our customers and partners based on trust. We focus on customers and their needs in order to provide them with the best and most efficient solution. What our long experience has taught us is that a company without a plan and a vision and without prime quality products cannot excel in this sector. So, we have come to realise that by combining our products and our technical knowledge, we have created a “magic formula” that makes us stand out.

What are the characteristics of the relationship based on mutual trust that you share with Jotun?

JOTUN is one of the largest marine paint suppliers worldwide and we feel very fortunate to be collaborating with them. The relationship of mutual trust that we have established with JOTUN is based on our common values, our common goals, our common vision and our passion for creation. Offering top quality products, the best technical support and fast service are our main concerns. So given the honesty, sense of responsibility and ethos that our companies share, we have managed to create an environment in which our customers trust us completely, both with regard to our technical services and the quality of the paints.
