JL Audio UK, the European distributor of well-established US automotive and marine audio manufacturer JL Audio, has announced its newest addition to the high-end ‘M-Series’ marine audio speaker range.
The new M880 8.8” Cockpit Coaxial Speakers are the largest diameter drivers in the range and have been designed to significantly increase output potential and clarity, with 36% more cone area and +6dB greater low frequency output than the existing 7.7- inch speakers.

Compared with the already large 7.7”, they offer significantly more output, especially at lower frequencies producing exceptional sound clarity even without the use of a subwoofer. This puts the M880 speaker in a class of its own."
Every component of the M880 has been meticulously engineered to resonate clear-cut, flawless output. A high-quality, true 2-way crossover network precisely filters and balances the coaxial system for outstanding fidelity and a new, oversized 1.20-inch, silk dome tweeter has been designed for this model to ensure that high-frequencies sound equally as well-defined as the bass, to better co-exist with the new 8.8- inch woofer.
Since entering the marine sector in 2005, JL Audio’s marine speakers have been highly-acclaimed for their robustness, durability and use of marine grade materials, far-exceeding typical industry standards. Continuing this quality, injection-moulded mica-filled polypropylene cone bodies and synthetic rubber surrounds have been purposely formulated with UV inhibitors for marine duty and gold-plated, marine-grade brass connection terminals have been utilised to expand the M880's lifespan within challenging marine environments.
