YYachts Sets Sail for Cannes, Genoa & Monaco

YYachts is proud to announce its presence at three of the most prestigious yachting events this autumn.

At the Cannes Yachting Festival (September 9–14), YYachts will showcase a stylish and brand-new Y8, followed by the Genoa International Boat Show (September 19–24), offering Italian and international clients another Y8 to experience. At the Monaco Yacht Show (September 24–27), shop window of the world’s largest yachts, YYachts will present its flagship Y9 – a perfect example of contemporary luxury and cutting-edge design.

The creation of the Y8 from YYachts is a collaborative blend, featuring a team of elite designers: Javier Jaudenes as naval architect, a top-tier product designer giving his personal input as a YYachts owner, and the Danish and world renowned designstar David Thulstrup working alongside the in-house experts of YYachts.

Their combined efforts have shaped the Y8 into a perfect example of style and practicality. Javier Jaudenes: “A lot of R&D results from earlier projects have gone into the Y8. It is an essence of our experience, fast, but at the same time very safe under any conditions.”

The Y8 offers the innovative standard YYachts models are accustomed to – such as the transverse garage in the stern, the self-tacking jib, the separate crew access in the cockpit or the flat deckhouse, whose optimally placed windows prevent the yacht from heating up too much. As is usual with yachts of this size, the interior can be customised to the owner’s individual taste. The two Y8’s in Cannes and Genoa impressively demonstrate the different options available for the Y8. A total of four different layouts can be realised.

The Y9, the bigger sister of the Y8, is the perfect exhibit for the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show, where the sailing area, which was launched a few years ago on the Quai d’Hirondelle, is becoming more and more established. The Y9 offers the volume of a 100-foot yacht in 90 feet focussing on owners spending time with family and friends on board.

As a result, the 90-foot carbon sailing yacht is easy to sail even with a small crew. Her interior design fulfills and even extends all owners’ wishes for a family yacht with sufficient privacy while they travel the world. Y9 owner’s are provided the highest level of privacy with their own apartment; dependent upon the configuration, up to three additional suites are available for guests.

Considerable importance was given to the design of the crew area, after all an unwritten rule in yachting is “happy crew, happy owner”.

The Mediterranean boat shows are the perfect opportunity to reveal more details about our latest project: the Y6. This 20-metre performance cruiser was developed in close collaboration with the renowned designer Bill Tripp, and is built entirely from carbon epoxy in line with the YYachts philosophy of lightweight construction and exceptional sailing performance, even in light winds.

The Y6 has been specifically designed for owners seeking a smaller, easy-to-handle yacht without compromising on comfort or speed. This model can be sailed single-handedly, meeting the growing demand from clients for a yacht that does not require a crew. While this was already possible with the Y7, YYachts has taken it one step further with the Y6.
