The Y9, a 90 foot carbon sailing yacht, is the logical evolution of YYachts’ Y7 and Y8 models.
Buying a large yacht – let’s say, of 20 metres or more in length – is a conscious and often unique decision for a better life balance and for more valuable time with family and friends. Besides, a yacht is a highly individual statement – because, after all, it is built exactly according to the wishes of its owner. At YYachts, their shipyard is precisely attuned to these needs and has already realized lifelong dreams of numerous customers.
With the latest technology, a high level of digitalization and a specialized team, they respond to every customer request.
An excellent example is their new 90-footers, a Y9 „Pilothouse“, which is a recent order. Her details differ in many ways from the Y9 „Prevail” delivered last year and also from the Y9 „Bella”, which will leave the shipyard this summer to allow her owner having a fantastic Mediterranean summer. YYachts are so much looking forward to start the construction of the Y9 „Pilothouse“ with an exterior design by Bill Tripp and an interior by the renowned Andrew Winch. And of course all their 90-footers are custom-made – YYachts’ large formats are just as individual as their clients.
With a length of 27.40 m, their 90-footers interestingly offer the same volume as a 100-foot yacht. They have a separate owner’s flat that offers maximum privacy, comfortable guest cabins and a large and flexible crew area. They are built entirely from carbon fibre to optimise performance and to make them extremely competitive. YYachts founder Michael Schmidt expresses: “With their length, they are certainly capable of winning some trophies and definately have an interesting rating.”
