The Flexplorer 146 Maverick at Palm Beach International Boat Show 2026

The Flexplorer 146 Maverick makes its North American debut at Palm Beach, showcasing Italian ruggedness and polar-ready luxury for global explorers.

The global yachting spotlight shifts to Florida as the Palm Beach International Boat Show (March 25–29, 2026) prepares to welcome one of the most talked-about vessels in recent years: the Flexplorer 146 Maverick. Crafted by the renowned Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CdM), Maverick is not merely a luxury yacht; it is a fortified explorer designed to redefine the very concept of maritime freedom and transoceanic autonomy.

Design without compromise

Measuring 44.33 meters, Maverick serves as the flagship evolution of the successful Flexplorer line. Its rugged exterior and naval architecture are the work of Hydro Tec, while the sophisticated interior was envisioned by the legendary Francesco Paszkowski in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. The vessel stands out for its “tough-guy” aesthetic, blending a masculine, almost military silhouette with the refined elegance of a high-end superyacht.

Its most iconic feature is the massive carbon fiber A-frame crane. This engineering marvel, custom-built for the owner, allows for the deployment of a 9.5-meter tender and heavy equipment without sacrificing deck space; when tucked away, the crane sits flush with the deck, maintaining the yacht’s sleek profile and leaving the aft area completely unobstructed for guests.

Technical Superiority and Polar Ambitions

What truly separates Maverick from standard pleasure craft is its “go-anywhere” DNA. It features a specialized 22mm ice-belt—a reinforced steel belt around the waterline—allowing it to safely navigate through areas with floating ice. Having already proven its mettle in the Arctic Circle, the yacht is currently preparing for the historic challenge of the Northwest Passage.

Under the hood, the yacht is a masterpiece of engineering. Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines, it reaches a top speed of 14 knots. However, its true strength lies in its endurance. With a fuel capacity of 64,000 liters, it enables a range of over 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. This makes it fully capable of transoceanic voyages without the need for refueling, a requirement for owners who wish to explore the most remote corners of the globe.

Interior sophistication: A blend of warmth and function

The interior design follows a philosophy of “sophisticated simplicity.” Paszkowski utilized a palette of natural materials, including American walnut, sandblasted oak, and fine marbles, creating a warm, residential atmosphere that contrasts with the rugged steel exterior. The layout is optimized for long periods at sea, featuring a spacious main salon with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of the ocean.

The name Maverick was chosen to reflect the owner’s desire for independence. Unlike most yachts of this size where crew service is constant, the owner requested a “self-service” station within the master suite. Equipped with a professional coffee machine, fridge, and even a private laundry unit, it allows for total privacy during early mornings or late nights without relying on staff for every minor need.

The epicenter of relaxation

At the stern, the yacht undergoes a dramatic transformation. When the tenders are launched and the massive side bulwarks are folded down, the aft deck becomes a staggering 135-square-meter Beach Club. This area serves as a floating sanctuary, featuring an infinity pool with a “glass wall” effect, a fully equipped gym, a sauna, and a dedicated diving center. It is perhaps the most versatile outdoor space ever designed for a yacht of this tonnage.

Maverick makes its North American debut

The presence of Cantiere delle Marche at Palm Beach with Maverick marks a strategic expansion for the shipyard into the North American market. As the world leader in the explorer yacht segment, CdM continues to push the boundaries of what a displacement hull can achieve.

Show attendees will have the rare opportunity to step aboard a vessel built to withstand the world’s most inhospitable seas while offering the comforts of a five-star hotel. For those who value adventure as much as aesthetics, the Maverick is undoubtedly the “must-see” highlight of the 2026 show. It stands as a testament to Italian craftsmanship and the growing demand for yachts that can truly explore the world.
