The Final Day of the MEDYS 2023

After months of planning, build up and anticipation, the MEDYS returned to the shining Port of Nafplion just five days ago. Now, we have finally seen it come to an end.

The 8th edition of the MEDYS – the world’s largest crewed charter yacht show – has been completed.

Each year, the MEDYS cements its status as the leading event drawing the world into Mediterranean yachting culture. Each year, the MEDYS is an unforgettable experience. 2023 was no exception, and the final day of the Show proved to be the perfect send off for the MEDYS until next year.

Day 5: Setting Sail Into 2024

The final day of the MEDYS came with a buzz and a flash of energy around the Port of Nafplion. With one of the biggest turn outs yet, with 92 registered yachts and 30 more on a waiting list, a cumulative LOA of 3.5 kilometres as well as 750 brokers and trade visitors coming from 31 countries, MEDYS 2023 was a huge success for all.

With the final yacht viewings taking place all around the Port, charter brokers had their final chance to dive head first into the world of Mediterranean yachting excellence. The sentiment around the Port was unanimous and absolute. All were leaving with a renewed passion for yachting, geared with insights into the coming year, and having forged powerful new industry connections – the kind that only an international Show can allow.

While parties and social events were a highlight of the Show, the energetic Crew Party held at the Rosso Music Cafe – Bar, organized by HYCA with the support of GYA, offered members of luxury yacht crews a chance to unwind and enjoy themselves. It was a much-needed occasion for them to let loose.

Saying Farewell With the Sounding of the Horns

As is tradition, the end of Day 5 saw all attending yachts of the MEDYS sounding their horns at the same time. A tradition that bids farewell to the Show, the closing ceremony was a proud and poignant moment for all. Crews, captains and brokers alike all came together to bid a final
“bon voyage” to the MEDYS 2023, and a hello to a brand new year of yachting excellence.

The Greek Yachting Association would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this year’s edition of the MEDYS possible. To the people and municipality of Nafplion, it thanks you for your extended cooperation and welcoming.

And to all the members and attendees of the MEDYS past, present and future, it extends its gratitude. It’s thanks to your cooperation and encouragement that the MEDYS have become the largest crewed charter yacht show in the world, and a fixture on the international yachting calendar.
