Τhe Extra X130: Construction progressing at a rapid pace

Construction of the Extra X130 Triplex flagship is accelerating, with the innovative 40-meter aluminum masterpiece on track for late 2026 completion.

The horizon of luxury yachting has just become more expansive with the official unveiling of the new flagship from Extra Yachts. The Extra X130 Triplex, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, is not merely a vessel but a profound statement on how humans interact with the ocean. Built upon a philosophy of harmony and freedom, this all-aluminum marvel measuring just under 40 metres is designed for those eager to embrace an immersive sea experience without borders.

The Extra X130 Triplex is currently in the advanced stages of construction at the Palumbo Superyachts shipyard in Ancona. Following its successful design unveiling in late 2025, the build of the first hull is progressing according to schedule, with final completion and delivery to her owner expected toward the end of 2026. As the finishing touches are applied to its innovative aluminum structure, the yacht remains one of the most anticipated arrivals for the upcoming winter season.

Architectural boldness meets naval excellence

The architectural boldness of the X130 Triplex is the result of a sophisticated collaboration between world-class designers. The exterior, penned by Studio Agon, maintains the bold-yet-stylish Extra’s DNA, mixing soft, flowing lines with aggressive, modern geometry. Inside, Laura Brocchini Design has crafted an environment defined by an optimal balance between light, material, and movement, while the naval engineering was developed entirely in-house by the shipyard to ensure structural integrity matches its aesthetic beauty.

A soulful innovation

If the X130 Triplex has a soul, it resides in the mezzanine deck. This dramatic and functional element is a global innovation, raised just 90 cm above the main deck. Spanning 30 square metres, it serves as the boat’s architectural anchor, offering an unobstructed view aft and housing two twin lounge areas separated by a sculptural fireplace. This design choice creates a rare sense of intimacy on a vessel of this size, enticing guests to marvel at the sunset while enjoying the warmth of a hearth.

A sanctuary between sea and sky

Directly below the mezzanine lies a sanctuary of leisure known as the open-air beach club. Suspended between sea and sky, this area offers 60 square metres of floor space thanks to fold-down side and aft platforms. Complete with freestanding furnishings, a bathroom with a separate shower, and direct access to the tender garage, this space fulfills the ultimate yachting dream of experiencing the sea just inches from the water’s surface. To maintain a sense of flow, the external staircases have been moved to the starboard side and integrated into the superstructure, ensuring the cockpits are spacious and free from any visual or architectural barriers.

The encounter of travertine and light

The interior design further enhances this connection to nature through a narrative of encounters. The primary dialogue is between Travertine stone and the surrounding azure waters. This stone, which speaks of the land, is illuminated by champagne-coloured reflections from strategically placed mirrors, while light filters through massive windows to create a warm, sensory atmosphere. Inside the main deck saloon, guests find two semicircular sofas and a 10-seater table. Proceeding forward, the layout reveals a professional galley, a lobby, and a magnificent master stateroom. This suite includes a private office, vanity, a bathroom with double sink, and a large walk-in wardrobe.

Custom luxury and social spaces

For those seeking even more exclusivity, an optional configuration allows the entire upper deck to be dedicated to the owner, featuring a private, panoramic aft master cabin. The upper deck also houses the helm station, the captain’s cabin, and a large saloon with facing seating and a bar. The sundeck, protected by a rigid T-Top, is a celebration of conviviality. It features a panoramic front lounge, a 10/12 seater dining table, a large bar counter, and two spacious sun loungers that frame a sea-facing infinity pool.

Performance and accommodations

Accommodations below deck are equally impressive, featuring four double cabins with en-suite bathrooms, including two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. The crew quarters are equipped with a separate laundry room and accommodate six crew members in three cabins, in addition to the captain’s quarters on the upper deck. Powering this 397 GT giant are two 2,000-horsepower MAN engines, capable of propelling the X130 Triplex to a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. The Extra X130 Triplex is more than a flagship; it is a new way of living that invites its inhabitants to stop looking at the sea through a window and start living within it.
