The 10th edition of the Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS), the world’s largest crewed yacht charter show, concluded with great success in the port of Nafplion.

From 3 to 7 May 2025, the heart of the global yachting industry beat once again in Greece, as professionals from around the world gathered to experience this landmark event.

MEDYS 2025 broke previous records, with 115 yachts registering within just a few days and all berths at Nafplion’s port being swiftly filled, a testament to the event’s strong international appeal. A total of 97 yachts participated, with a cumulative LOA of 3.7 kilometres, while 18 more yachts remained on a waiting list. The exhibition attracted 810 industry professionals from around the world, further highlighting the significance of Greek yachting on the global stage.

The 10th MEDYS commenced with an address by the President of the Greek Yachting Association, Mr. Michael Skoulikidis, during a ceremony attended by Ms. Anna Karamanli, Deputy Minister of Tourism, representing Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis; Mr. Dimitris Ptochos, Regional Governor of the Peloponnese; Mr. Dimitris Orfanos, Mayor of Nafplion; and other dignitaries.

Following the opening ceremony, guests were welcomed to the traditional reception at the historic Palamidi fortress, where they enjoyed a memorable evening accompanied by live music. The highlight of the night was a dazzling drone show by Sky Symphony, with hundreds of drones illuminating the Nafplion sky in a truly mesmerising spectacle.

During the welcome reception, Mr. Michael Skoulikidis, stated: “A few years ago, some of us  dared to imagine how the Greek yachting industry could best present itself on the global scene and steal the spotlight with its unique offerings. We wanted to bring together the people who make this industry extraordinary and create an inspiring platform that leads to strong connections as well as the generation of business opportunities. It was indeed a daring dream. And tonight, as we are gathered here again, in the historic port of Nafplion, the truth is that we have much more than an annual event to raise our glasses to. We have created a legacy. And it should be celebrated, cherished and continued. Our legacy was  built on trust, collaboration and the commitment of many: the visionaries who “saw” the future and what the MEDYS could  become, before there was tangible proof, the  Board Members of the Greek Yachting Association, the yacht crews, the charter professionals, the sponsors, the exhibitors and the press. In recent years, the yachting industry may have experienced remarkable growth but it is also displaying increasing complexity. New challenges. New dynamics. New destinations. We are entering a demanding era. One that continuously asks more of us. More innovative solutions. More flexibility. More responsibility towards our clients, our environment and each other. More healthy competition. That is exactly why the MEDYS matters”.

MEDYS remains the only event of its kind in Greece dedicated exclusively to luxury yachting, welcoming yachts over 24 metres with a professional Greek charter licence. Each year, Nafplion becomes the beating heart of the global chartering community, with top-tier professionals gathering to experience the excellence of the Greek fleet and the unique atmosphere of the Show. This year’s impressive turnout reaffirmed the global significance and reputation of the event. Among the participating companies were some of the most prestigious names in the industry, including TWW, Burgess, Edmiston, Fraser, IYC, Yachting Partners International, Camper & Nicholsons International, Northrop & Johnson and Luxury Charter Group.

As every year, gastronomy took centre stage at the Mediterranean Yacht Show through the renowned Chefs’ Competition, which has become an integral tradition of the event. This year’s theme paid tribute to Greek cuisine, inviting the chefs of participating yachts to create inspired dishes that reflected their own interpretation of Greece’s rich culinary heritage.

The competition reached new heights with the presence of two distinguished figures in international haute cuisine: Giorgos Papazacharias of Delta Restaurant, the only Greek restaurant awarded two Michelin stars and one-Michelin-starred chef Luca Piscazzi from Pelagos, Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens. Their expertise and prestige ensured a judging process that reflected the high standards and expectations associated with MEDYS.

The Mediterranean Yacht Show was co-organised by the Greek Yachting Association and the Municipality of Nafplion, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy and with the support of the Region of the Peloponnese.
