Nimbus T12: The new flagship of the tender series

The Nimbus T12 redefines the 12-meter category with its innovative side balcony and high-performance stepped hull.

The official world premiere of the Nimbus T12 (Tender 12) took place in January 2026 at the international Boot Düsseldorf boat show in Germany. The new model was introduced alongside the entire new Nimbus 12-series, which also includes the Weekender 12 (W12) and Commuter 12 (C12) models. With an overall length of 12.4 meters, the T12 represents the natural evolution of the predecessor T11, incorporating increased dimensions and enhanced accommodation capabilities, aiming for the top of the large luxury walk-around market.

Design innovations combined with deck functionality

The design of the T12 follows the strict lines of the Scandinavian school, placing primary emphasis on safety and ease of movement on deck. The yacht maintains the open-deck philosophy while introducing a new wider and longer T-top, providing enhanced shading and giving the T12 a completely new profile. This updated roof combines functionality with modern aesthetics, featuring integrated solar panels and acrylic see-through sections with sunblock that allow natural light to pass through while protecting the helm area from overheating.

One of the primary functional upgrades of the T12 is that it now features a side balcony on the starboard side, extending the social space when at anchor. This solution significantly increases the total deck surface and facilitates direct access to the water. Additionally, the swim platform at the stern is structurally reinforced and offers more usable space compared to previous models in the series, enhancing the vessel’s utility for maritime activities and water sports.

Designed to serve diverse social needs

The cockpit of the T12 is designed to serve diverse social needs, featuring a fully modular seating arrangement. This flexibility allows the space to be configured into a dining area or a relaxation zone with simple adjustments to the reclining backrests. Centrally located is the wet bar, which includes a full kitchen setup with refrigerators, a sink, and cooking hobs, making the boat autonomous for multi-day excursions. Furthermore, a large storage compartment with a capacity of 2,500 liters is located beneath the deck, accessible via a hydraulic mechanism.

Internally, the Nimbus T12 features two separate double cabins, offering comfortable sleeping quarters for four adults. The master cabin is located in the bow section, while the second cabin extends beneath the cockpit level. The head (bathroom) features full standing headroom and a separate shower area—an element that imparts cruiser-like characteristics to the model. The use of high-quality materials throughout the interior confirms the shipyard’s commitment to detail and ergonomics, offering a sense of luxury without compromising functionality.

Technical specifications and propulsion systems

Regarding performance, the T12 is built upon a twin-stepped hull, optimized to reduce hydrodynamic drag and improve fuel consumption at cruising speeds. The vessel offers flexibility in propulsion options; notably, for the first time, the T12 can be fitted with dual Mercury V10 425hp engines, delivering exceptional performance for those who demand more power. This setup allows the boat to achieve top speeds exceeding 45 knots while maintaining high levels of stability.

Alternatively, for those preferring inboard/outboard transmission, Volvo Penta D4 or D6 engine systems are available, incorporating assisted docking technologies via joystick to simplify maneuvering in confined port spaces. Overall, the Nimbus T12 stands as a comprehensive proposition that combines the speed of a sports boat with the practicality of a luxury cruiser, redefining the boundaries of the 12-meter category following its successful launch in early 2026.
