The new Nimbus 12 Series introduces advanced engineering, smart helm technology and refined Scandinavian design, redefining performance and comfort in modern boating.
Nimbus ushers in a new era of high-tech Scandinavian boatbuilding with the launch of the 12 Series, a thoroughly upgraded generation of the Weekender 12, Tender 12 and Commuter 12. Developed as a holistic redesign rather than a cosmetic update, the new range introduces cutting-edge engineering, improved ergonomics and forward-thinking innovation that significantly elevate the brand’s performance and user experience.
Refined exterior engineering and hydrodynamic enhancements
At the core of the redesign lies a refined exterior architecture featuring an extended, structurally integrated swim platform that enhances hydrodynamics and creates a seamless visual connection with the sea. The lines of the hull have been optimized for both performance and style, while a forward-leaning superstructure and dark-toned accents give the series a more modern and aerodynamic profile. Nimbus has also retained its signature air-lubricated twin-stepped hull, a design known for reducing drag, improving fuel efficiency and ensuring stable, confident handling even at speeds surpassing 45 knots.

Next generation helm technology and control systems
One of the most notable advancements in the 12 Series is the complete reengineering of the helm environment. Newly designed command seats offer greater lateral support and long-distance comfort, and improved visibility combined with a sophisticated lighting configuration contributes to safer navigation in all conditions. These structural upgrades form the foundation for some of the most advanced control technologies available in the category. For the first time, the series integrates the Mercury Joystick Piloting system, delivering intuitive maneuverability with seamless system integration. Select models can also be equipped with the Volvo Penta Assisted Docking system, transforming even the most complex marina maneuvers into smooth, precise movements. The available bow thruster further enhances handling, giving captains total control in tight spaces.
Model specific innovations across the range
Each model in the series brings its own technological personality. The Tender 12 receives the most extensive transformation with a redesigned, larger T-top incorporating integrated solar panels and see-through sun-blocking elements, while a new starboard side balcony expands leisure space and improves circulation onboard. Performance takes a significant leap forward as well, with the option of twin Mercury V10 425 hp engines now available. The Weekender 12 introduces a modern interpretation of the classic Nimbus Targa-style canopy, combining the heritage feel of the iconic Nimbus 32 Ballista with contemporary functionality and cleaner, more fluid deck arrangements. Meanwhile, the all-weather Commuter 12 features an updated deck salon with a galley-up layout, improved cabin shading and a redesigned aft deck, making it an ideal choice for year-round boating and daily transport.

Scandinavian interior design and on board experience
Interior spaces across the range reflect Nimbus’ commitment to Scandinavian warmth and functional elegance. Bright, airy layouts emphasize natural light and promote a feeling of relaxation, while high-quality materials and refined surfaces elevate the onboard environment. The carefully crafted design encourages seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor areas, reinforcing the brand’s philosophy of effortless connection with the water.
Performance, Efficiency and Responsible Innovation
Performance and sustainability also play central roles in the technological identity of the 12 Series. Optimized fuel consumption, enhanced hydrodynamics and engine configurations capable of balancing power with efficiency demonstrate Nimbus’ focus on responsible innovation and long-term environmental consciousness.
With the 12 Series, Nimbus does more than refresh its lineup—it raises the benchmark for intelligent boating. The combination of advanced control systems, refined engineering, and purposeful design positions the range as one of the most sophisticated expressions of Scandinavian marine craftsmanship today.
