The Turkish shipyard Mazu Yachts announced their new Mazu 42 Walk-around. Her official presentation will take place during the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival, from September 12th to the 17th. This project is already sold.
Mazu Yachts has been designing, producing and marketing luxury hard-top and open motor yachts since 2011. Mazu Yachts is known for their sleek and aggressive looking planing-hull motor yachts built using the cold-molded system. Mazu Yachts stands out of the crowd with their special “hand-crafted art of super-yachts” due to their building technique, which gives the hulls extra strength and lightness.
MAZU 42 WALK-AROUND
The new Mazu 42 Walk-around has an overall length of 11.99 meters and a maximum beam of 3.7 meters. The center console, perfectly protected by a real modern superstructure, leaves room for two ample lateral walk-arounds. Halit Yukay, head designer and owner of the yard, has succeeded in giving the 42 a freeboard that is high enough to allow movement on deck in complete safety even while at sea, but still keeping her sportive profile with it’s military twist overtones.
On-deck comfort is assured by the ample sun bathing area near the stern, while forward the cockpit is complete with a V-shaped settee and a second settee forward of the console.
The size of the aft platform has allowed the yard to create a true seaside terrace, ideal not only while at anchor but also when moored to the jetty, facilitating coming aboard and going ashore. The presence of a mobile kitchen with Gaggenau appliances ensures leisurely and pleasurable times when at anchor.
The yacht’s eight ton displacement and special hull shape take full advantage of the propulsion system: two 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS 600’s, giving the Mazu 42’ Walk-around a top speed of 47 knots, with a cruising speed of 32 knots.
Her interiors are characterized by generous headroom with elegant minimalist styling featuring expert use of Alcantara and leather trim created by the Italian company Foglizzo. Forward the 42’ Walk-around has a large queen size bed with a comfortable settee to port and a large bathroom with all the features to starboard.
All lighting, both on and below deck, is by Cantalupi, and ensures soft lighting that creates a refined and welcoming environment.

WHY THE NAME MAZU?
Mazu is the indigenous goddess of the sea who is said to protect fishermen and sailors, and is invoked as the patron deity of all Southern Chinese and East Asian persons. Born as Lin Moniang (Chinese: 林 默 娘; pinyin: Lín Mòniáng; Peh-ōe-jī: Lîm Bek-niû; Foochow Romanized: Lìng Mĕk-niòng) in Fujian around 960 CE, worship of Mazu began around the Ming Dynasty, when many temples dedicated to her were erected all across Mainland China, later spreading to other countries with Southern Chinese inhabitants.
