BlackCat superyachts together with Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design has unveiled their third design in the BlackCat series, the BlackCat 30 Catamaran.
To be built by McConaghy Boats, this 30.4-metre design collaboration is a result of requests made by clients for a catamaran of this size.
The interiors, designed by M2Atelier, feature panoramic windows, a lounge area with open space design, BlackCat 30 can host larger crowds for clients inclined to entertain. She accommodates up to eight guests in six cabins hosted by crew quarters for four. She is designed to be constructed using lightweight carbon fibre, helping her cruise efficiently with low carbon emissions.
The BlackCat 30 Catamaran, cruising at 30 knots and reaching a top speed of 32 knots, presents itself as an appealing alternative to a 40-metre monohull for many clients due to its design allowing customizability with extensive details. Malcolm McKeon comments, “There’s been space in the market for some time for a large catamaran design that can offer the luxury and quality of a superyacht this size, and also provide this level of stability and high performance.”
Being a brainchild of Australian yachtsman Mitch Booth, the BlackCat range benefits from his experiences and knowledge gained through racing a variety of catamarans in a career that earned him Olympic medals and Yachtsman of the Year awards. His over 40 years of experience in the field is now helping him shape and create the intriguing concepts of the BlackCat range.
