The Nauta Air 108 Tartaruga debuts as a refined explorer yacht, blending bespoke Italian luxury with advanced, eco-friendly naval engineering.
In 2014, with the launch of Yolo, the Nauta Air line marked our first step towards differentiating CdM’s production of semi-custom explorer yachts. It was the first collaboration with internationally renowned design studio Nauta,” says
Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and CEO of CdM. “In the Darwinian spirit that has characterised us since the inception, we have continually evolved and moved forward, creating models that meet the requirements of an increasingly diverse and discerning clientele. We adapt to the market while, in our own way, we shape and
improve it. Throughout our evolution, we never leave a model behind; instead, we continually refine and improve them to better adapt to the market. The Nauta Air 108 we launched today is a testament to this winning approach. We express our sincere appreciation to Michel Chryssicopoulos, Managing Partner of IYC, for his valued partnership and dedicated collaboration, which were essential to the successful completion of this project.”
A new evolution
The Nauta Air 108, Tartaruga represents the latest evolution in the Nauta Air series, showcasing refined upgrades and sleek, contemporary styling that give it a more contemporary look. Compared with the earlier model, key updates include fashion plates seamlessly blended with the dark glazing along the main deck salon, as well as a 6-meter tender and crane positioned forward on the main deck.
Interior design and guest comfort
Both the exterior and interior have been designed by Nauta, giving the yacht a cohesive aesthetic that enhances her many qualities. Inside, the yacht feels light and open, with the hull’s generous volume providing ample space and comfort for owners and guests (up to 12 in 5 suites). Social life will likely gravitate toward the cockpit, which offers clear aft views, or the expansive Sun deck. Crew accommodations for five are located on the Lower deck, while the
captain’s cabin sits next to the wheelhouse on the Upper deck.
A visionary design philosophy
Guido Valtorta (Nauta co-Director), provides an insight on the project from the designer point of view: “A new chapter unfolds in the enduring success story of Cantiere delle Marche and the CDM Nauta Air range. This project embodies a deeply personal vision of life at sea of the experienced Owner and his family of passionate sailors. Timeless exterior lines express a strong marine character and true explorer spirit. Onboard, the layout ensures fluid, efficient circulation for both guests and crew, while interiors and outdoor spaces blend seamlessly into one
continuous living experience.”
The concept of understated luxury
“Generous exterior areas are designed to celebrate the pleasure of openair living,” Valtorta maintains. “The interior concept, entirely bespoke, reflects the Owner’s lifestyle and sensibility. Architectural geometries meet carefully
selected furniture pieces, creating a contemporary yet sophisticated atmosphere. A balanced palette of natural tones, authentic materials, clean lines and subtle organic details — an expression of fine craftsmanship — is enhanced by expansive openings that flood the spaces with light. The result is an ambiance of understated
elegance and quiet luxury.”
Naval architecture and performance
Measuring 32.6 meters in length with a 7.55-meter beam, the Nauta Air 108 is powered by twin Caterpillar C18 Acert engines, each producing 533 kW, and includes a Selective Catalytic Reduction system to meet IMO emissions
standards. Since conventional anchoring is restricted in many environmentally sensitive areas, the yacht is fitted with a Dynamic Positioning System that automatically maintains its position without mooring. The Nauta Air’s naval architecture balances aesthetics and performance, incorporating smart engineering solutions such as a bulbous bow and flat aft sections to enhance fuel efficiency and deliver outstanding stability and seakeeping. Nauta Air 108 Tartaruga launched today is the sixth in the Nauta Air series, and the seventh will follow shortly.
