Overmarine has launched the fourth Mangusta 165 REV, a 50-meter superyacht blending Italian elegance with high-performance speeds of 35 knots.
The shores of Viareggio, Italy, recently served as the backdrop for a major milestone in the yachting world as the Overmarine Group celebrated the launch of the fourth unit in the acclaimed Mangusta 165 REV series. This 50-meter superyacht represents the pinnacle of the shipyard’s “Maxi Open” line and is currently preparing for its official delivery to the owner this coming April.
Breathtaking performance and engineering
The Mangusta 165 REV is far more than a luxury vessel; it is a high-performance machine designed for those who value speed as much as comfort. Powered by a formidable setup of four Rolls Royce engines, each generating 2,600 horsepower, and utilizing a Kongsberg Kamewa water-jet propulsion system, the yacht can reach a staggering top speed of 35 knots. Despite its substantial volume, the aerodynamic profile ensures swift and agile navigation, maintaining the signature spirit of Mangusta’s classic open yachts.
A revolutionary design by Lobanov
The exterior aesthetic is the result of a high-profile collaboration between Lobanov Design and Overmarine’s in-house technical department. Together, they have reimagined the aggressive lines of the REV series, creating a profile that is both dynamic and contemporary. The interiors of this specific unit are fully customized to the owner’s specifications, featuring a collaboration between the shipyard’s design team and designer Marcello Pianosi of POM home.
Uninterrupted luxury and living spaces
A defining characteristic of this new Mangusta is the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor environments. The main saloon serves as a prime example, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass surfaces and fold-down side balconies that expand the living area while offering unobstructed panoramic views of the sea. For the owner, a massive 92-square-meter master suite spans two levels on the main deck, providing an unparalleled sense of privacy and space.
The social areas are equally impressive, centered around a sophisticated beach club at the stern that functions as a true lounge on the water. On the bow, guests can enjoy an expansive al fresco lounge equipped with a Jacuzzi and sunpads, while the sundeck offers a dedicated bar area and additional seating perfect for evening cocktails.
Setting sail for the Mediterranean
Following its delivery in the spring, the fourth Mangusta 165 REV is expected to begin its inaugural season cruising the Mediterranean.
