Jotun Hellas, for the 3rd year in a row, is the official sponsor of the 55th Edition of the Aegean Rally.
The 10-day race began on Friday July 20th from the historic battleship Averof at Faliro Bay. The race will breeze through the islands of Paros, Leipsi and Amorgos before reaching the final destination in Sounio, where the Temple of Poseidon will serve as the finishing line. To help raise awareness, the message ‘’Save our Oceans’’ will be displayed on the yachts.
A member of the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) will be present at each island and will coordinate cleaning activities of the coastline.
The Rally is being successfully organized by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC) since 1964. It has been a prestigious maritime tradition and one of the most challenging races in Europe.
A press conference took place on Wednesday July 18th announcing the event. During the panel discussion, important topics such as raising environmental awareness for the protection of the oceans and the future of yachting in Greece were discussed.
