German yacht builder enters new phase of growth with leadership transition.
The German shipyard YYachts has announced a strategic restructuring of its management team. As of today, Sven Göbel assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Christian Möller, who is leaving the company for personal reasons. In his new role, Göbel will oversee finance, production, and procurement, while Tijl Hetterschijt will continue to lead sales and marketing.
Göbel holds a degree in industrial engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt. Over the course of his career, he has held various leadership positions in both commercial and technical functions across multiple production-based industries.
“I’m extremely excited and proud to be joining YYachts,” says Göbel.
“This innovative shipyard, with its disruptive mindset, is setting new standards in modern yacht building. We have a clear path forward — and I am confident that we will continue to grow in the years ahead.”
YYachts founder Michael Schmidt welcomes the appointment: “Sven has a longstanding experience in managing a shipyard in a similar position and will bring YYachts with his expertise into the next step of development.” Schmidt will remain closely involved with the company, with a renewed focus on product development and enhancing the customer experience, particularly from an owner’s perspective.
