Due to the likelihood that public events restrictions will continue, Vene 22 Båt is rescheduled and will next time be arranged in one year on 10 -19 February 2023 at Messukeskus Helsinki.
Vene 22 Båt was planned to be arranged from 11 to 20 February 2022. Current public event restrictions are applied in the Helsinki Metropolitan area until 17 January. However, the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Covid-19 coordination group has already recommended the regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland to extend restrictions regarding public events by two more weeks, i.e. until 31 January. The final decision on restrictions is made by the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland.
Messukeskus made the decision to reschedule together with the commissioner of the boat show, the Finnish Marine Industries Federation Finnboat ry.
“The Helsinki International Boat Show is a big ten-day event that brings in hundreds of boats. The cost of transporting boats is high. In this situation, we cannot take the risk that restrictions continue in February. The costs are now starting to materialise, and in this situation, we can only throw in the towel,” says Jarkko Pajusalo, Managing Director of Finnboat ry. “Helsinki International Boat Show is a long-awaited event where boaters gather. We regret that we will not be able to offer an exciting event this year either.”
“A large event such as the Helsinki International Boat Show has a long preparation span, so decisions had to be made as soon as possible,” says Anni Vepsäläinen, Managing Director of Messukeskus. “The continuously changing situation regarding restrictions creates uncertainty and is very challenging for both event organisers and companies participating in trade fairs. We want to act responsibly and ensure that all our customers have the possibility to fully prepare for the fair and thus secure a commercial success and health-safe participation.”
Messukeskus organises the largest boating event in Northern Europe Vene Båt – the Helsinki International Boat Show at Messukeskus Helsinki on behalf of the Finnish Marine Industries Federation Finnboat ry. Vene 23 Båt – will be arranged 10 – 19 February 2023.
