Columbus Yachts announces the launch of its Atlantique model, the first of 3 units to be delivered to their respective owners by the summer.
The joyful launching ceremony of the Atlantique 43 metre Night Fury II took place in the presence of the Owner and his family. Columbus Atlantique 43m, built with steel hull and aluminum superstructure, boasts exterior and interior designed by the Hot Lab studio abiding by the “Architecture for Voyagers” philosophy: a combination of stylistic, design and functional elements dedicated to traveling by sea fully enjoying every single moment spent on board. The naval engineering is by Palumbo Superyachts in collaboration with the Hydro Tec studio.
The external lines are reminiscent of a shell, resembling a smooth and artfully carved stone: no sharp edges, no sudden angle change. Just a single shape, soft and aggressive at the same time, an fairly organic blend of a motor yacht and a classic sailing hull. The affinity with a sailing yacht fluid lines lends this motor yacht a natural elegance.
M/Y Night Fury 2 is designed with the owner and his family in mind; characterized by large external areas that effortlessly blend with the generous internal space. The internal areas of the main and upper deck award total contact with the surrounding landscape.
The “sailing-type” stern of the Atlantique 43m is perhaps its most characterizing area. The central swimming pool is very scenic, surrounded by an aft facing C-shaped seat. The whole area is very low on the water thanks to the choice of “digging” into stern; we are in fact 50cm above the sea surface and, also thanks to the addition of two fold-out side wings, there is the perception of being in direct contact with the water.
The lower deck houses 4 double cabins, 2 VIP cabins with en-suite bathroom on the hull sides and 2 twins. The forward area of the lower deck is dedicated to the crew and provides 4 double cabins, all with bathroom, a crew mess and laundry area. The 5.5m tender is stored at the stern where the starboard side garage is.
An area has been dedicated to the second tender (rescue boat) and two jet skis, at the main deck forward. Powered by 2 Cat C32 Acert of 970kW, Columbus Atlantique 43 can reach a maximum speed of 15.5 knots and a cruising speed of 14.5 knots. The Owner has been introduced by Ocean Drive.
